Hey guys... sorry for the delay... but here is an update on my app...

Got my EAD in the mail on thursday, sept 20th....

Took it to the SSN office to appy... I took my Birth Certificate(original), State issued ID, EAD, and school ID(this will only be used if you are a student).... And the lady asked me for my passport... Which I dont have.... So if you dont have one, dont worry... thats why you should take a school ID or other state issued ID... they need to verify your birth certificate with your EAD and an ID or Passport...

Anyways.. The process was long at the front desk because I was like one of the first to apply... And it seems like their computers have still not been updated with the new software to include DACA... which is a thumbs down on SSN there... they should have been prepared... The announcement was made on June 15th... and estimates were out of the potential 1.7 million apps...

Just like uscis hired that many employees for those potential 1.7 DACA applicants... SSN will also need to be prepared to issue mostly 1.7 new SSN's.. in a efficient and short period of time...

Anyways.. the lady told me that I would have to wait at least 10 days for them to have my number available... and when that day came up, to just visit the office there and ask for it... but that is just to ask for it... because the SSN card should take around 2 weeks to arrive in the mail....

Anyways... I just wanted to share my experience..

Do not panic... Take you time... Bread in and bread out... relax and have faith... Thats what I did... and here my experience and signature shows...

so start getting those apps ready... do car wash, donation jars, etc etc.. to get those $465 for the app... come on DREAMERS we are all creative and can raise funds for this apps...

I'm planning on going to the SS office next week! Did you schedule an appointment? Did you fill out a form before coming in or do they have the application available for you when you arrive?

I didnt have an appointment, although you can make one. I think it's pointless. They have the application online and at their offices but I suggest you get it done at home so that when you get there you can get right on the line.

I kinda rushed the process... Which is not recommendable.. I was so exited that literally 5 minutes after I received my EAD, I was on my way to the SSN... No appointment or app... So I had to wait until the lady filled out the app herself... and she took her sweeeeet time... Like 20 minutes... I was like really?? and you get paid to work this slow??? ofcourse I said that on my mind(while smiling and being patient)...

but yeah.. its better for you to download the form online... fill it out your self... double check to make sure no errors... and then just go to the SSN.... you dont want to rush it like me... truuuuuuust me... too much streeeeeeesssss when you are there waiting...

also.. I just got a message from someone that went to another SSN office and got this info back...

I was told that they would hold my app 10 days from the day I applied. I went back on Thursday (3 days after I applied) and I was told that they run the SAVE check 10 days after your EAD was issued (in my case 9-11) so that SSN would run a SAVE verification on 9-21.
I will call Monday to make sure this was correct, but that is what I was told.

I would keep on hounding SSA because they have a tendency of just doing everything in a snails pace. I've called 3 times and walked in 2 times

so yeah I guess we will have to wait and see how they start improving their verification systems...and you have to be patient.. because they need to verify that is an official document... I sincerely dont want any "supposedly" "fake" DREAMERS to get accepted at all... So i would rather wait for them to verify everything and make sure they have a secure system...

THE REAL DREAMERS need this... and there will be a lot of Fraud attempts.. and who ever commits fraud in this country DOES NOT DESERVE TO BE HERE... #justsaying

Last night I received a text, went to the site and it said:

"The USPS reported that your new card was delivered on September 21, 2012, directly to the address we had on file. If you did not receive your card, or have any questions, please call our customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

I almost had a heart attack because NO I did not get my card... I worried the whole night and did Google searches on "EAD lost in mail" and got even more worried. I went to check the mail every half an hour today and finally got my EAD!

I guess USCIS estimated I should've received my EAD by Friday so they just went ahead and updated my status yesterday... So if you guys receive any texts that don't make sense, don't worry and wait a few days to see what happens first.

For #5 on the SSN form, which answer did you choose?
