EASY THEEEEEEEERE COWBOY!!!!!!

Don't round everyone into the same "know-it-all" category or you become just like the people that think illegal immigrants are killing their children.

I agree. I'm studying dental assisting so hopefully that changes something. Not a dentist, but hey, it's something.

MAVNI's reopened as of a few days ago, though it was reauthorized in May this year.

Will there be any changes in policy?

It appears TPS and U visa holders are now eligible.
But you have to meet the Two Year of prior Legal Status/Residence, and most DACA do not meet that, and DACA is not codified Law, just administrative procedure. Hard to see where DACA beneficiaries might fit into this.

Persons whose status is not listed in the eligibility criteria cannot enlist under this pilot program. Thus, those holding B visa or other visitor status—including those who entered on the Visa Waiver Program—are not eligible. Asylum applicants are not eligible, although once they have been granted asylum, they may become eligible. Undocumented immigrants, visa overstayers, and other persons who have violated their status are also not eligible.

That said, they could change policy a couple years from now when DACA people have gotten 2 years of legal presence. Also important to note that many asylees and U-visa holders were once undocumented, too, so it doesn't mean too much to have violated your status beforehand (or to have entered unlawfully).

I tried joining the Marines before with just an EAD about 5 years ago by going into the office and enlisting, but they were clear that it simply wasn't possible and require permanent residence.I had my lawyer check out if it was possible for other services but mentioned that few of the services offer such a thing except the US coastguard but you have to be enlisted for at least 20 years before that is possible.Interestingly,he also mentioned serving with many individuals who were once undocumented back in the '80s.The one thing they mentioned is try to stick to the recruiters in the city if possible.

Concerning MAVNI,It has always included TPS and U visa holders and I think the current program is valid until 2014 so don't know if they'll be willing to change the designation then for DACA applicants 2 years from now.

I'd enlist immediately if we could. But, we cannot.
