So I went to go apply for a social security card and I was told ima have to wait from 2-4 weeks so I can get verified by dhs which I think is total bull since the waiting time is 10 days.
So idk if I should go into the office sometime this week and check how's it going?

Has anybody already got verified by any chance?

I got my EAD approved on Sept 14th, and went in to apply for SSN on Sept 20th. I called the SSA office on Oct 4th and was told that my application was still pending because of DHS approval and had a note that I might have to wait till Nov 2nd.
I applied in Houston, TX and I will call again on Oct 9th to see if there is any change to my case. I am not sure why DHS is taking so long to approve my information.

Wait 10 days after you receive your EAD. Then go apply. End of story.

My ead document has a date effective 9/19/12, applied for ssn on 9/28, just got a call saying it has finally been approved today 10/9 and I should be getting my card in a week. It took a lot longer than I thought but well within the 4 week time frame I was told.

So I went back today to check the statues of my replacement social because I don't think the 4 weeks wait is right and this time I got a lady that was more helpful and told me I should receive my social in 5-10 days 😄😄😄
So next week my social and my drivers license should come in the mail..
So happy hahaha

So whoever got told wait 4 weeks you should go back and hopefully be lucky enough to have a helpful person assist you than one that hardly wants to help u out!.
