i did i will upload a pic today. and i have not received my ssn yet... i just used my i797c establishing approval of a work permit that actually has dates and time for the work permit and a SSA letter, of course two bills under your name and my passport too, but i got it on friday, september 28... i also went to the opa locka dmv people are really nice and quick there...

it said that people that got approved asylum or any other status they needed to bring a i797c showing approval, i thought it was any kind of i797c showing approval, and it worked for me.

i think i may have been really blessed with a DL without getting my EAD card first... anyways i got the ead the same day at around 5 pm but by that time i already had my DL (at least just the paper saying it so) and yesterday it arrived in the mail.

Yes, I was going based on what Dargwe mentioned before. BUT, unbeknownst to me Florida DOT sent out a memo on the 1st of October in which it states that you had to have an EAD before you could get your license. I live in a semi rural area where there is little to no public transportation. You have to drive or you will never get anywhere. I just got my EAD and will finally be getting my license today or so I hope.

Just spent two hours of my life. No DL, they have to have a social. I tried to explain to them the whole gathergoget.com thing. Nothing. I just don't think they are educated enough on the topic. I am going to try another office that probably sees more immigrants. This sucks.

I live in FL as well and had the same thing said to me. And the people at the SSO refuse to even look in the system to see if my info is in. And they keep telling me i need to wait 30 days to apply. So frustrating! I thought getting my DACA approved would be the worst part.

how long did it take from when you applied until you received the card in the mail? I went into the one in brooklyn yesterday and she said it should take a few days...

Which sso did you go too? I live in orlando and I am trying to decide which will be the best sso to go to? The one that will give me the least problems

So if I go to the DMV with a i797c and my send I may be able to get a license.

unless the i797c says that you are approved and it has the dates for your work permit it wont work, but as the OP established the rules changed on 10.1.12 read it is on the first post.
