Agree.
I have family members that crossed the border many years after me and once they became legal they referred to others as "mojados"(wetbacks). That is sickening.

I have asked God to never give me the opportunity to adjust my status if I will become like them.

I think this is one reason why "border security", "illegal immigration", and "drugs" are such a big issue. It's a dilemma, because no matter what you choose, whether A or B, something bad goes along with it. It is Ok to want to be safe. Whether you comprehend illegal immigration or not, it is reasonable to want the CRIMINALS (those who just come here for the wrong reasons) to stay away. It's just that there's loop holes and corruption with EVERYTHING. Sealing the border is not the real effective solution. Not to mention, it would be almost impossible to be able to SEAL the entire border with Mexico. Plus, no matter what they do, people will always find a way to come here, hose fighting to have a dignified life and those with the wrong mindset.

For the American/Mexican government to stop the drug cartels they wouldn't have to just beef up the border they would NEED to spend millions on educating Americans about drugs. Why? Because millions of people in america spend billions of American dollars buying up those drugs from the cartels. Like someone said they could make a 50 foot wall and have thousands of soldiers on the border that right there will do absolutely nothing if there is still money to be made in America from all types of people not just minorities. They would need to decriminalize marijuana to an extent, but most importantly they need to educate all those people that can't think for themselves. Doing that in my opinion would hurt the drug cartels financially and that's where it hurts the most. Then the Mexican government would have to straight up no mercy go after all of them. Most of them would die because they wouldn't go out without a fight. Eventually those cartels would go down farther south and it would be someone else's problem. It won't be easy because you guys have to remember that Los zetas are special forces operatives that at one point served Mexico. Guess who they were trained by? American special forces. This war on drugs is being fought on the wrong battlefield that's why there hasn't been any real progress. There probably won't be any real progress until the drug cartels main costumer does something about its people. In the end America and Mexico are going to have to completely team up to take these organizations down.

Oh give me a break. Anyone with common sense knows that every country, even Mexico, reserves the right to keep out people from going into the country illegally. Even before there was a glimmer of hope for all of us that have been here many years, we knew and continue to know that there is an existing immigration problem. What if we were all in Mexico and there were other countries that were inundating ours and doing it illegally? Would you sit there and say "Oh just open up the borders, everyone can come in whenever they please and stay as long as they want"? I don't think so.

For us that were brought here as children, it is very different because it was not our decision. However, that does not mean I am not grateful that my parents wanted a better life for me. Are we supposed to pretend like there's no problem though? Let's be realistic. The President went ahead and gave us all a chance because he understand that it's not our fault that the system is broken.

What's worse? For someone who came over last week to be deported? Or for somebody that has lived here since 5 years old to be deported simply because ICE raided the store they were in? It's not being selfish. It's simply understanding that we got a very deserving break, but the system needs to be fixed and the borders need to be better protected.

"A nation without borders is not a nation"

Stop putting illegal immigration and drug cartels in the same sentence. If Spain or Greece would be right next to the USA they would do the same thing as Mexican or central americans.

Immigration is a problem everywhere not only the US. See how other countries deal with it.
