No! This aint mejeeco, they scan it i think. But they dont keep anything, unless youre switching out ids between states! Then they keep your old, but that isnt the case here.

PLEASE keep me posted! I had an EAD when I was younger and they stamped mine if they don't stamp yours, I need to know all the documents you brought. When you get your temp white slip, if it says Temporary Visitor anywhere on it, your card will be stamped.
Good luck sister!!

That would be such a bummer.. Usually people with visas get the visitor stamp. Technically we're not visitors, but we'll find out soon enough.

Got my permit in the mail just now.....

;( yup like a scarlet letter, it saz temp visitor A1, status expires in 2 yearss, but somehow its valid until 2017??
Didnt look at temp id, it saz Visitor as well.
I met someone that works at google from england, his ID says the same. So at least it isnt shameful, apparently tons of foreign professionals have that on their sate ID.

Package sent 8/15 - received 8/18
Notified acceptance 8/21 via email/no text
Got letters first week of sept.
Bio sched 9/18 went in 9/18
Approved 10/02 for both 821 n 165 (didnt get any notifications)
10/09 received EAD card. 10/09 applied for SSN. 10/11 SSN printout applied for permit.
10/12 received SS card by Mail (wow super fast)
10/15 permit received in mail, temp visitor ;(

Ah Bummer! At least you have an ID.

Yeah it's valid for a long time. I wonder why they do that?!

I heard that even though the actual card says valid till 2017 it actually expires the day the temp visitor stamp expires. :-/

like for example on a drivers license you get pulled over the card says 2017 but temp visitor expired already it makes the card invalid. I don't know how true that is. I hope it's not.

Funny thing , the next day I got my ss card in the mail. Being a chick and blonde didnt hurt either, but I just couldnt wait. Sure EAD is great, but an ID from any state makes life easier, and avoids people/friends raising questions.
On the form it says that if they have no record of a ss if ur applying for the first time you MUST show ss card unless you are not egligible for one and that's when they would take the letter from DHS and SSA. I want to go today since I have my printout but I'm afraid they won't take it like that.
