Do you live near a large city? I live about 45 mins from Miami in a largely residential area and the lines start forming at 2pm on thanksgiving...and that was back when Best Buy opened at 5am in 2006! If you live in a small town, I'd say maybe 8 is okay, but really it all depends on where you are...good luck though! The TVs are ALWAYS the first to go, people get crazy!

I live in Chicago and I know one Best Buy is located in a busy neighborhood so I'm thinking it won't be as busy as the other store. There's one located in Downtown but I think a lot of people are going there since it's easier to get there by public transportation.

Yeah, it can be kinda tricky to figure out which one to go to. Personally, I always go with the mentality that I'm more than likely not going to get what I want lol. I know one year my brother was stalking Best Buy from 2pm Thanksgiving Day for a laptop...turns out that even though he was one of the first 20 people in line, the laptops sold out way before he could even get a ticket to purchase. The stores troll a lot on Black Friday; 'limited quantities available' usually means 5-10 in the store...TOTAL. No rainchecks, etc.

I would just get there as early as family obligations/personal want allow. Couple years ago, I went to grab my godson some toys at Target that were really well priced, ended up getting everything I wanted, and only showed up at 10pm for a midnight opening. However, it was just toys lol. Electronics are a whole other monster...good luck!

Since I'm a silver member for Best Buy, there's an early black friday going on this Monday coming up. I'm hoping the TV and/or the blu-ray will be on it so I don't have to line up.

While people go crazy for useless shat and throw each other around I'll be enjoying leftover Thanksgiving food.

But thanks for 'helping' the economy!
