So after reading this and doing research, I went in to Chase, since I have my bank accounts there. They told me I could try IBC and their college credit cards or a secured CC. ...I did. I got denied for the college CC at IBC because of insufficient credit history...which is the whole point of that CC...but anywho.

I went back to Chase and a different banker told me that I could apply for a CC with them. I asked if it would hurt me to keep applying for credit cards. She said no, since I dont have any credit, but that it is not wise to keep trying more than 3-4 times. I applied. got denied. called the number to ask for reconsideration...no go.

as a last ditch effort, i googled and stumbled across Discover Student Card. I thought...what the heck. cant hurt to try one more time. applied. had to verify some things...called 5 minutes after my application went through...was approved with a $500 credit limit.

So if you dont have money for a secured card (i know i didnt)...you could try the discover student card. good luck, y'all!
