Where you issued a ticket for driving without a license?
Yes a ticket with no charge but to bring it to court to get a hearing which eventually led to an actual court date!
My court date is in beginning of Feb, but I'm trying to find a lawyer to come with, and to seek more info whether I should notify USCIS or not.

still, they're considered minor to USCIS. I don't think you have to notify them since you provided accurate information when you applied and I doubt they'd hold you just because of a driving without a license.

I'm not sure how you applied but if you applied with community help or by yourself, go ask those organizations regarding this to be safe. I don't think a lawyer that would help you at court for the violation would necessarily be the best person to ask regarding the immigration part of this matter.

Or maybe perhaps someone else can tell you different here.

Yeah the lady who helped me applied told me to basically leave it alone and go with the flow.
But who knows, I'm going to call few people and do a research on it.

Just so you know though, there have been a couple of people that have already been approved that have had not one, but several incidences of being caught without a driver's license.

Right... Well my bio was on nov 11th... And my application is being held in Vermont, so supposedly the slowest of all too. So annoying.

I live in Mass too and I did get stopped by police 2x w/out a license since i started driving at 16. Had to make a living so that meant driving a car...

I got pulled over for really small stuff, never an accident. They make you go to court because you are driving without a license and that just means you gotta pay X amount of money to get the charges dropped so it won't go into your record. I believe i paid $100 bucks on my first offense and $200 on my second. Matter of the fact is, this was more than 5 years ago. Today, courts have A LOT of cases like that from immigrants so you will probably pay a little more than i did. Easy money for them.

Like others said, if all you have on your traffic citation is driving without a license and NOTHING else, they will just ask for money when you get there.

This won't affect your application at all, as you can see on my sig it didn't on my case. (:

Right, it was basically for driving without a license. The court wants me to bring paperwork as a proof od my DACA process and the insurance paperwork to prove they paid for the car damage. Meanwhile my case is still taking forever. I guess i better wait a week after my court date to call them?

Sorry, wasn't clear about that. What I meant was that your immigration status isn't relevant to the charge of driving without a license except that it means you're probably going to be guilty anyhow. It's unusual that the court would ask you for proof of legal status, but I guess you might as well go with the flow. USCIS doesn't care if you're guilty of driving without a license unless you somehow get stuck in jail for 3 months or more.

You don't have to contact USCIS at all about this. Unless you went to jail for something more serious, they won't care about your traffic accident.

If the court is requesting paperwork for your DACA process, this can most likely help you and not hurt you. They can't do a damn thing about your process but you can say "hey i'm in process to get my immigration situation resolved in order to get a license, here's the proof, i will get a license as soon as this is approved."

Say that and you will most likely either pay a smaller fine or nothing at all. You don't need a lawyer either.
