October Applicants - Page 95

I just wanted to say that I've been approved! (just a couple of hours ago, found out through two emails sent from USCIS) I found out just out of the blue after a couple texts and emails from USCIS today, after not a word for over two months! I hope this gives some comfort to other October applicants, especially from the Nebraska service center, like Bate1 and guti_217 and everyone else, that you should be getting yours any day now too! Thank you so much to everyone on this forum for all of your help and the laughs! I know it's sappy to say I'm so grateful for your advice and company, but still, a kind act is a kind act, and I think I would have gone crazy without this forum. I can't wait to read about your approvals too over the upcoming weeks and months!!

Thank you! It's always an honor to tell my fellow DREAMers that the POTUS requested to take a picture with one of us! I have a great story behind the pic. It's one of three I have with him, I hope to get another next week at inauguration!

For the individuals waiting for more than 3 months, when you called for an update what did they tell you guys? Just curious because my application is about to go on 3 months and am curious for the people who call if they give you any vital information? Nebraska center

hey im new to the forum, ive been reading for months but now decided to register. october applicant .

Well, here it goes...a shortened version:

When I was in High School I came across Time magazines issue with the POTUS in the cover. The title of the article was "Could this be our next President?".
Well I was full of inspiration after seeing a fellow brown face and was a fan ever since.

I met him after I graduated, it was 2007 and he came to Iowa after announcing he was running. I asked a "friend" to take a picture but she zoomed and it ended up being a picture of my face and his chin.



So in 2010 he came back to Iowa and I managed to get tickets ^.^
I was the only brown face and under dressed. It turned out to be a super private fancy event and I was wearing a BO 2012 tshirt and my DREAM Act arm band >.<

Well it worked to my advantage. I got to speak to him. I asked him if we were gona pass DREAM and he replied "Absolutely!".
I then mentioned my messed up pic, which I had on my phone. He grabbed my phone from my hand to see it and said "We gotta take a better one!"

I DIED.

The secret service freaked, but POTUS said it was all good.

Later I found out that to take a picture with the Prez you have to get security clearance...well I didn't!

He came again this summer. I got to stand behind him. We made countless covers and national TV together!

Great story! and that is awesome that your being under dressed worked to your advantage! I would have felt so out of place! Lol.
