I'm sorry if this thread doesn't belong here, I wasn't really sure where to post, and there seem to be a lot of people on this thread who know a lot about immigration law...

I'm a USC and I'm turning 21 this year. I really want to petition for my mom and my husband to receive permanent residency. My question is, can I petition for both at once? Or does it have to be one at a time?

Thank you!

You can but if you do not make enough (over 125% of the poverty guidelines) for your household size you will need to use a joint sponsor for each one. Head on over to the uscis website to find the form for the poverty guidelines. Also i suggest going to visa journey forum as they are very helpful there as well, and start learning about immigration law it can only benefit you in the long run. Good luck!

I believe you can petition both. The only issue is when they do adjust you have to fill out an 'affidavit of support', which means you accept financial responsibility for them, so depending on your income/savings and their income/savings, you might not be able to.

I'm actually super interested in possibly studying immigration law in school! After reading through all the info I find on these forums, I hope to actually help people with this information as well. Thank you very much!

Thank you! I'll look more into this info.
