They received my app in October and I also can't check my status online, I think we have it the worst. By that i mean, we have Vermont AND we cant check our status! All I can tell you is to try to have patience, I've called about once a month for the last 4 months and they tell me theres nothing they could do about it, its a glitch in the system. They also said when they need to contact me they will send me a letter, they asked me if I received the biometrics letter and the other receipts, I said yes, so they said not to worry if I've been receiving mail from them.

What was the RFE's for? Gaps??

Don't know yet. The letter was mailed out on February 5th so we should be receiving it soon. I have no idea what it could be. We provided our college transcript (showing the last five years) as proof of residency. I'm guessing it wasn't enough. I would also like to add that around October his case was transferred to the National Bwnefits Center, then in Decemeber it was transferred back to Vermont. The transferring was supposedly done to "speed up processing time" but clearly that wasn't the case. I found it all weird back then and I still do. Both our cases are pretty straight forward, no criminal record. (Oh and only his case was transferred not mine)

Hey guys I got approved on January 21st!! FLORIDA!!!

Anyways I wanted to know if anyone who has been approved from FLorida has gotten their driver's license yet? I wanted to know cause I was reading the requirements and it says that my work authorization has to be at least 30 days old for me to apply for one so I was wondering if I misread it or something.. I already have my social security number and everything..

I hate Vermont so very much. It is middle of February, almost 5 months since I send in my application. No response yet. Can't apply for any actual job because I have no work permit. In addition no one around here is hiring for any cash jobs either. Well there are some openings for delivery drivers, but guess what - no work permit = no driver license.


To make the matter even more annoying plenty of numbers before and past mine have already been approved. How about FIFO Vermont, how about fucking FIFO.

Of course you can get a drivers license, i recommend getting the permit first(40 questions) then waiting a week and going back for the road test(practice on the road on that week) after that you should have your full drivers license in a week or so.

or there the other alternate go to the DMV and pay a driving instructor to teach you the road test, then go in and apply for the Full license take the 100 question test and road test in the same day. The key being here you getting taught the road test by a driving instructor before even going in and applying for this method I recommend not making an appointment.



This is all assuming you have already completed the 4 hour drug and alcohol course.....

We do have it the worst! My timeline's practically identical to yours and my receipt number is about 2,000 after yours. I'm just worried that they've lost my information. I don't have a problem not being able to check online, my only concern is them not working on my case. I received mail from them as well, so I suppose I won't worry as much, but I may call just in case. Thank you so much for sharing your experience and good luck!

Aw. I know that feel...but there are things you can do in the mean time. I just got meself a stock broker.
