I always stick to Undocumented Immigrant. People know what I am talking about anyways.

As far as DACA goes, I've simply been saying "I have employment authorization, a 'work permit.'"

The AP Style suggest "temporary resident status" for those with DACA. I like it, actually. It's very TPS-y-like. We could even use it ourselves. No need for lengthy explanations when someone asks about your status.

No more trying explain —

-Oh, you see, I have this thing called DACA...
-??
-Err... Deferred Action... for Childhood Arrivals.
-????
-Legally illegal.
-??????¿¿¿¿¿¿
-Oh, what matters is that I have legal presence.
-O...kayyyy???
-I'm work authorized.
-Oh. Where is your green card?

Just answer "Oh, I have temporary resident status... and eventually that will turn into permanent resident status."

That should shut them all up.

I don't really care if our call me an illegal immigrant because that is what I am. But it pisses me off when people just call me 'illegal', because lol....we aren't legally human? :/P

One of the biggest problems with immigration in this country is that US citizens are fucking incompetent when it comes to it. They think it's like in the 1800s where you got onto a boat, went through Ellis Island, were checked for lice and could start a new life in America, and we are just being assholes and instead of waiting our time in some non-existent line we hop the fences and overstay visas.
