I've waited 28 years! 5 more will go flying now that we can get jobs and live a normal life. I just want to get this straight, we are going to get GC as soon as they pass bill or we wait 5 years then apply for GC, and then right after we get GC we apply for citizenship? I think its dumb if we have to apply for GC and right after we apply for citizenship. Its just extra money on fees, lawyers and penalties doing things separate, oh and extra time and workload for USCIS. They should just let us get our GC now and in 5 years allow for citizenship.

Its funny how he complains when some of us havent even got the dream act approve. Like me, 7 months and waiting. Lets be thankfull they are giving us an opportunity, we can easily wait for 5 or more years . Just give me a work permit and a license.

Too much to ask?

I was relieved to see that it was 5 years. I'm more sad about my parents... they're gonna have to wait 10 years! As long as they can travel some time soon that's all I care about. They've dreamed about going back to mexico to visit family. and also Paris! I really don't care about myself at this point. The thing I wanted most was the ability to work and an ID which I have. The rest is just extra to me and I've been waiting 20+ yrs so 5 isn't that much more.

my brother and I waited for about 18 years for this. We got approved for DACA but we turned 28 and 29 this year. Are we still eligible for 5 year citizenship path after getting CPR? I really do hope that transaction is smooth from DACA to 5 year CRP to citizenship.

Congrats I'm 29 and just got approved for DACA, well from what everyone is saying it seems we will get Registered Provisional Immigrant status then at the 5 year mark we can apply for permanent residency (green card), then as soon as we get our green card we can apply for citizenship, all and all im guessing it will take us about 7 years total because of waiting time of so many applications, remember its estimated 11 million will apply. For DACA there has been only 450,000 applications and the wait time has been averaged at 6 months, that's half a year right there. Imagine 11 million..
