It is of course this is not including books/supplies and like dreamy said if it involves a lab or if it's online they charge a little more but nothing to exaggerated.

They also offer installment payment plans I believe they charge like 25 for it and you can pay off classes like that.

To OP, I know this directly doesn't apply to you, but I would look around your area to figure if any CCs are doing this. I'm in shock that the CC im trying to take classes at is acknowledging DACA.

Unfortunately, I'm not approved for DACA yet and I need to sign up before May 6. I blame you Vermont!!!!
I actually need to go and tell them I need to put my social on there. I hope they get that fixed the day I go because ugh sometimes they make me go like 10 times before someone gets it right.

Omg I hope you're approved soon!

well then maybe we should pack for TX since its cheaper???!!! Here in NY a community college STARTS around 1,500 per semester, not including fees and books.
While the universities range from 15,000 a semester to 30,000 or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! again not including fees or books. Oh yes that’s with an instate tuition rate.

It won’t be easy for me working, raising a family of one year old, and going to school!!!

Well, college is expensive for everybody, but even if all you can afford is one class a semester, you should start. Once your mindset is in the college world, it will change you and will make you do everything in your power to finish what you started. I can honestly say that going to a community college probably saved my life. By then I had been working a miserable job for 2 years, completely depressed that my life was going down the drain, and that I had no shot at a future and absolutely no hope.

The 3 hours a night I would go to college were my escape from reality and where I felt normal. In a blink of an eye it was all over.

Such a win. It's true. Going to school is probably the only good decision I've ever made.

You guys are lucky to go to such cheap colleges. Even the in-state rate per credit hour here at a regular public state university is $350 (tuition + fees per credit hour). Guess what the out-of-state rate is? Fking $700 per credit hour. Multiply that by 24 credits (typical credit load per year), and do the math. That's just for one year. And if you dont live close enough to the university to commute, then you're f*cked.

Holy crap!! I feel so blessed living in CA after reading your guys' posts.
Community is @46/unit. So make the math; that's about $600 for a semester not including books obviously. This is instate. Out of state it's $250+/unit.

A Cal State University is about $3500 per semester (fulltime). The great thing about living as an undocummented in Cali is the Ca dream act. It pays for our tuition plus this year we can apply for grants. Actual money to buy books and other expenditures. This past semester I paid 40$ for my parking permit only. This fall I hope to pay $0 out of pocket, fingers crossed!! And i won a scholarship but I dunno the amount.

Sorry to boast so much guys but it's very exciting being able to fulfill our dreams.

For a cal state university we will be able to get up to $12,000 to pay for tuition if we are low income.

Hahahaha it's not that easy. We Texan dreamers need to qualify for instate. They have guidelines like have lived here I believe 3 years prior, have graduated with a high school diploma, etc. But yes the TX DREAM Act is amazing!!!!

For me, this was an issue since at the community college my GPA was damn near 3.75 and at the university it was more like 2.4.
Yeah... starting your GPA with core classes like biochemistry instead of psychology can be brutal. Good decision to pick calculus based physics over regular.
