I never thought about this?! It's true! In my case I came here on a tourist visa, which was replaced with a student visa which expired years ago. My grandfather petitioned my mom when he was a resident and since I was under 21 I was part of the petition. Needless to say my "amazing" grandfather's family are as$3s and the petition fell through. It basically shows up as an abandoned case. Maybe because I have so much history it takes longer.

My question now is why does it take longer though? What is it about past cases that makes the process different or perhaps more time consuming compared to other cases?

probably because of the fact that they have to dig up all your previous info make sure theres no fraud involved ? or something suspicious who knows ?

I have similar question! I always thought that past case help us to speed up the process since the system has checked our background and in some case proof of our residency in US during that time! but o well, this is us gov, you never know!

You would have thought it would be easy for the USCIS to look into this as they are the ones who hold all the answers and have all previous petitions. I think we have all been assigned to a higher level officer who may have a huge work load involving cases which are not DACA. I know someone who is applying to become a citizen and the time line has changed from 5 months to 9 months and they are blaming it on the number of DACA apps.

In 9 days I will be leaving this club and become a life time member of both the 6 and 7 month clubs. I really don't want to join the 8 month club.

Well 7 month club, it's only 4 more days until I become a member of the 8 month club. I just want to say I've had an amazing time, & it's been quite an experience to wait even longer for NSC to approve me. I without a doubt feel as if they've yet to even glance at my application.Whether it got lost among all the other applications, or whether the officer that's handling my application decided not to review my application but rather.. use it as scratch paper to doodle on when they're bored: I doubt I will ever be approved. With that being said, it's been great 7 month club! Thanks for the snacks & drinks!
