thing is, why need a credit card as soon as you get your social?

oh you thought things were going to be downhill after that huh, nope. Time to get out and make something of your self. Strive for a good pay and then build upon your credit.

Yes, there are dreamers with 10k credit lines don't get me wrong. But you, specially if you're a student, with no job.. what do you think is going to happen?

and i'm not talking specifically about OP, i'm talking about You, yeah you.

also, its going to take at least a few years for our numbers to be integrated fully.

don't go applying like a pendejo either, that's BAD for your credit. its what they call a hard credit check. or actually go ahead, keep applying. Fuck it right?

10k credit lines, LOL

Only the bank and Verizon accounts affect your credit record. In a month or two, try applying for a store credit card. (For example, Walmart, Target, etc). Use it lightly and pay it in full every month and DON'T make late payments, that includes Verizon. After about 9 months of successfully using your store card, you can then try applying for something else.

Applying too frequently for credit, has NEGATIVE consequences.

This made me but it's so true. Some folks are young and don't know any better I'm glad this forum exists though it helps us a lot.

The BofA secured card is your best bet. Its probably the best secured card available because it graduates to unsecured after a year and your deposit is returned. Just be sure to keep your utilazation low(around 10%) and always pay on time. The downside is the annual fee which is 39 bucks iirc.

BTW after you get accepted call a backdoor # and ask them to tack on cash rewards to your card. You'll make those 39 bucks back in rewards.

Here's a bank of america backdoor #: 888-260-4696 . Should get you directly to a credit analyst.
