As long as you have a SSN you should be able to get a credit card. Hell, my dad has had one for the past 5 years with a credit line of $5000 without a number with Capital One.

I got approved for the Capital One Journey card for $500 (instant approval after hitting submit) and with Discover It (had to send in a few documents to prove that I'm enrolled in college before approval) for students for another $500.

I know Wells Fargo has offered me their secured credit card but I don't really want that one. I checked my credit score and it's 700+, well Discover mailed it to me. Never had any accounts on my name before or any bills to pay on my name, new SSN with DEA.

I was instantly approved for an unsecured Capital One card when I applied online. It only asked for my ssn and annual income, not citizenship. You should start with a secured line if you are not able to get an unsecured one. Good luck!

If you have a relationship with a bank like Bank of America or Chase, you might be able to apply for a non secured card and get it based on the relationship. That's how I got my first card (from BOA).

Also applying in person or over the phone is the best. That way you can go for a reconsideration immediately. If you apply online the website won't care/let you give any reasons on why they should approve you.
Op wants an easy approval. First Progress approves anyone. The interest juggles with the annual fee in 3 cards. The high annual fee with smaller interest. The small annual fee with high interest or medium annual fee with medium interest.

If anyone wants a Discover credit card referral, hit me up. It's a great credit card with amazing cash back. You need to have some established credit. Maybe a referral on top of that might improve your chances.

It's a secured card. That's the easiest approval you can get.

You'd have to have bankruptcy and a shitty payment history not to qualify for one. After all, they have your money beforehand. They can't lose money on you, if you don't pay then they keep your deposit.

I agree that it is quite difficult to get a credit card in a major banks if you are non-resident of a country. Try for a AARP Credit Card which provides a huge cashback and it can be easily available. It is secure and verified. You need to ask a nearest financial adviser for this credit card.

I've tried applying at Capital One for a SCC and a UCC and I've been denied for both the reason is because I was deceased? LOL I just tried two others mentioned here and same thing happened I was denied. I'll definitively going to be applying in person from now on and see how it goes.

I did after I posted and it said that my application had been received for review and will be processed promptly. If approved, I should receive my new credit card by mail within 14 days, it's been 5 days and haven't hear from them, hopefully the CC its on is way.
