They would not grant someone to go study abroad, I highly doubt that. Advance paroles are meant for short trips, you can't be out of the country for long
I believe you can request it for up to a year... people used it to study abroad for like 3 months, so it's not only for short trips...

Dear dreamers, I just returned to USA with AP (I was granted 45 days just like I asked). I can't post a new thread, so I post here.

I traveled to oversea in May and returned without any problem last week.

When you travel, you'll need your DACA approved letter, your approved AP, and FILL OUT I-94 FORM (Remember to ask flight attendant give you one, THIS IS SO IMPORTANT)

P.S. when you line up for entering, go to the "Citizen and Resident" line, NOT the visitor or visa line. They will take you to a waiting room to verify your papers. Good thing is no one came to question me anything, I just sit there and waited about 40-50 minutes, then they returned my passport and papers to me, Okay to go.

That's it.

This is probably crazy, but has anyone with a final order applied/traveled with a final order? Also, any news on the specific guidelines for AP for DACA beneficiaries?

I think there was only 1 individual who had a Final order and indicated they were going to try as soon as they were approved for DACA/AP....but haven't seen any of their posts as of late.I'm quite interested in how CBP deals with those who have Final orders and AP because I do have confirmation of 1 individual returning[TPS holder w/AP approved] who had a 'removal order' but have read nothing concerning anyone with a Final order being approved or returning.

What has me the most concerned is the following.
Quote:
Alien is under an outstanding order of removal (including a deportation order or an exclusion order) and is seeking advance parole to return to the U.S. after traveling abroad. Note: If an alien who is the subject of an outstanding order of removal departs from the U.S., even with an advance parole, he or she effects the order (i.e., self-deports. See section 101(g) of the Act.)

Guys, I just received my AP!!! I am so happy!!!
They gave me one month even though I only requested 2 weeks! I was nervous they would deny me because even though I am going to visit my ailing grandfather, I did ask for specific dates in August because that is when he and my grandmother will celebrate 6o years of marriage and his wish is to have his family reunited even if it's one last time. I was afraid they would think "if it's an emergency, why doesn't she want to go right away" but I did want to be there for that date and I didn't want to lie. They were also VERY quick, they received my app on May 20 and I received the approval today, June 18 so less than a month!!! I did ask for them to expedite though (no extra cost).

I can't wait to hug my grandparents and relatives again after 12 years!

I'm wondering which airport you flew into and whether or not they asked if you are adjusting status? Did they ask you anything at all? If so, what did you answer?
I'm just nervous because the people I've heard from all had pending i130's so when asked if they were adjusting they all said yes but I have nothing other than DACA. Please let me know! I am going to be super nervous when it comes time to actually leave the country! Thanks

If I may ask, how old are you? And did you have "illegal presence" as well prior to leaving?

As long as they close the case with ICE, they're fine. It mentions it somewhere in there.
