I would like to know what FGCU's policy is. I was going to go in next week and ask them about in-state tuition.

Hi! I've tried to get in contact with MDC for a while now and no one answers me. Where did you get the info for being over 24 and independent and being able to apply for instate? Please let me know. I've been going crazy trying to find someone that gives a straight answer in their kendall campus.

BTW, OP thanks for this!

The info I just got it from the website.

Non-U.S. citizen students and parents (if student is considered dependent) must provide evidence of eligible legal immigration status in the U.S. before being considered for Florida resident fees. Please check with the Registrar's Office for more specific information on the non-U.S. citizen categories that are eligible to be considered for Florida resident fees. International Students on an F-1 Visa are NOT ELIGIBLE to pay Florida resident fees.

I've been trying to find anyone with any experience with Brevard Community College. I emailed admissions and got a flat "the state passed a bill saying you will be charged out of state", which is odd. They just transitioned into a state college, and are now Eastern Florida State College, so I'm hoping maybe they're a bit more knowledgeable on the situation now.

Brevard County's doesn't really have a diverse, thriving population of immigrants so I'm not really getting my hopes up, but paying out of state for a 2 year degree in IT is gonna really suck; I wanna start by spring hopefully, and their tuition estimate for out of state is 8,000 bucks, don't really have that lying around.

Anyone know anything about UCF? There was a dreamer saying that they posted something in their residency requirements page about DACA. But I couldn't find anything.

FGCU refuse to give in-state tution to DACA beneficiaries. They basically make excuses about how you're not qualified for in-state rates and the only thing that will give you in-state tuition is a permanent resident card. Also, they don't give out-of-state tuition waivers anymore.

Anything on Valencia giving InState to DACA? Or anything for Florida changing it's stance of this?

I sure wish Florida would grant us in-state tuition. I keep hopping colleges trying to get in-state tuition.

Thank you for this post!
I'm interested in knowing where UCF stands in this issue.
I wish Florida was a bit less strict to us undocumented students :/
