Wouldn't make sense since you need a social with EAD card.

I didn't want to start a new thread so I guess I will just say it in here.

I am really worried because when I went to the SS office the lady who helped me out was very nice and allowed for me to apply with just with EAD and foreign birth certifiate. I have a drivers license from 2008 which is exp along with a passport which is also exp. Today when I called to get an update the gentlemen on the phone told me that I should recieve my card in 2 weeks but the problem is they misspelled my address.

I asked if that can be changed he said yes but I have to go back to the office with the original documents that I had taken the first time if i want to change the address or get a print out with my SS number. With my luck I will get end up getting stuck with someone who will demand that second form of ID and I will once again be screwed.

You weren't lucky, all you need is your EAD and Birth Certificate or passport.

You need to prove three things when you go to apply for a SSN; legal presence, age and identity. The EAD proves your legal presence and identity and the birth certificate proves your age

The lady kept saying to the lady next to her "He only has his EAD, but I want to help him out. Im just going to put in here that he showed another ID as well".

Im going to go in early tomorrow and do my best to get a print out.

If you also had your birth certificate, then you didn't just have your EAD. The birth certificate is the second form of ID for immigrants applying for a SSN. To get a printout, all you need is a form of ID, which is the EAD.

"RM 10210.020 Policy for Number of Documents Required for an SSN Card"

B. Original And New SSN

At least two acceptable documents are required to establish:
age,
identity, and
US citizenship/lawful alien status.

2. Alien Applicant

If an alien applicant submits an immigration document (e.g., a document issued by the Department of Homeland Security), you can use it to establish identity and lawful alien status; then, the alien must provide another acceptable document, such as a foreign passport or birth certificate, to establish age.
The applicant can use a foreign passport to establish age and identity, while the immigration document establishes lawful alien status.

Update: I received my SS card in the mail on Saturday. I went to the DMV today and tried to get my license but they gave me a paper which is valid for 60 days. Is this normal?

I take that you passed your written test?

Yes, the paper is normal, you do understand they have to print your license, they're not going to do it right there and then. You shall receive your learner's permit within the time limit.

This same procedure goes with your real license, in NY, after passing my road test, they simply gave me the grade receipt that were to be presented to police officer stating that I passed if I were to be stopped by them for any reason.

You should receive your new driver license in next two weeks. I went to the CA DMV today to renew my expired DL which expired 8 years ago, all they asked me to do is take a written test and then they printed me out a temp 60 days license, and told me to wait two weeks to receive my new DL. They just looked at my EAD and gave it back to me. They just used my expired license to complete my application.
