You might want to sell your other number. Who knows...

Well then that was just me not having muck knowledge of the whole situation. But I don't see how that guy says I was purposely trying to commit fraud? I just don't understand the whole "not valid for employment" and applying for a legit SS card valid to work legally

You doesn't seem to get it, by saying that you do not have a SS Number, the SS Office will assign you one, that is the point of their asking the question. To update the information if you already have a number, which you do. So, if you were told them that you already have a SS Number, the number will be updated and you're allow to work.

However, by saying that you do NOT have a number, then they'll assign you a new one. But in this case, they must have found your number and updated for you.

What you HOPE to do, and what you DID, conflict each other. Though that is because you didn't know, but that doesn't make it right.

I get it now, I appreciate how u approached my question! Not like that other douchebag. I guess my very little knowledge about all this almost got me in trouble :/ I should have asked this question before I went to the SSA office cuz I knew before hand they would ask some question relating to "have I ever been issued a ssc" cuz my cousin told me! But I sincerely wasn't trying to benefit from anything !

Thanks

G33k, if you don't have anything nice or constructive to say, sometimes it's better to be quiet.

1. NEVER LIE on an official document. It can bite you in the ass.
2. Why wouldn't you want the same number? Social Security and immigration are different departments so now that you have the same number, you'll get credit for the work you did and get more in social security later. Consider yourself lucky.
