I need your help guys. I got an RFE, one for the year of 2007 and another for June 15, 2012. My school district gave me a sheet of paper that was stamped and had all my grades from elementary school to middle school. The RFE said that I did not show enough proof of being here prior and on the year of 2007. I thought that my grade card would be sufficient. Do you guys think that maybe the person overlooked that sheet that had my grades from elementary to middle school? If so then I guess I should highlight them.

Nope, they didn't overlook anything. You didn't send enough proof, 1 item for all of 2007 is not sufficient. For all they know you could have left the US for a while and just came back for school. What you need to do is gather Affidavits from friends, teachers. THEY DO NOT NEED TO BE NOTARIZED. You can also submit pictures with a description of what's going on and where they were taken on the back, obviously they need to be from 2007. Now the Jun 15th 2012, what did you send for that? the school card? Did you submit the application your self? did you include a table of contents? You need more proof that you were here on june 15th 2012. which is the date where deferred was announced. Don't freak out, gather everything that you have and don't take this lightly as you well get denied if you don't submit sufficient proof.

Good luck.

I guess I'll be going on a ten hour drive to get those affidavits. The reason why I thought they must have overlooked my report card is because it was done oddly, like all my elementary and middle school grades where all on one sheet of paper. Also the date on it was extremely small, so I kinda understand if they just overlooked it. I was in 8th grade so I don't have anything else, it's not like I could get a job, pay utilities, and etc. I did find a photo ID from a theme park dated (06/27/06). Yes I did make a table of contents, on my RFE I'm making another table of contents and highlighting stuff. For the June 15th, 2012 I sent my high school grade card but there was a three month gap between junior and senior year. I found an AP score thing I got in the mail dated (06/25/12). I also got two of my friends to write me letters. I've seen so many people get approved by just sending school report cards, I guess I'm not one of those lucky people. Thanks for your help!

don't highlight stuff, they don't want to see highlighted stuff, they want to see real proof, if you highlight they might send it back and say that they couldn't read it or the document has been altered. DON'T HIGHLIGHT STUFF.

I don't know who to believe anymore, other people who got approved told me to highlight the stuff. I guess I'll make new copies and put sticky notes on them. Is that okay?

If you're doing a good job, then the table of contents should suffice. Just separate every single document the way its labeled on the TOC.

also, i am not a lawyer so my advice is just as good as the people who tell you to do it otherwise. Follow your heart i suppose.

I think USCIS said themselves not to highlight anything

Have you tried looking for any medical records. Thats what happen to a fellow dreamer i helped. all his school years (kinder-8th grade) were in 3 pages that the school stamped and signed. He received an rfe asking for 2007 proof. His mom was able to find a dentist estimate, school certificate and a ident-a-kid id for 2007. Ooh he was also asked for the june 15th 2012 up to the time of filing. We RE-submitted his high school transcript, sent in a affidavit from our church's pastor. Only difference was i made a checklist for the evidence submitted for each of the 2 request. I did not highlight anything because i too think that when they scan (if they do scan docs that is) evidence will show as altered. Thats what happened when i'd scan documents in my old job. If they were scan, the information highlighted would show as a big black blurry line accross. Basically that information would be erased. Best of luck.

Thank you so much! Sadly I've never been to the doctor to have that proof, I just went in 1999 to get my shots for school. For 2007 I'm resending my report card (with a sticky note on it), a picture ID that is labeled (06/27,06), and I'm going to go to the Catholic Church today. I lost my first communion certificate paper, but I remember it was around 2007. I have some pictures and I'm going to ask the father if he reprint it or if he can write a letter. For June 15, 2012 I have to affidavits so far, I'm resending my transcript, and I found an AP thing 6/25/12. I'm going to be looking for me, but do you think I'm in the right direction?
