Thanks! I'll try to send her an email right way. Let's hope it helps!

I'm sorry to hear so many people are waiting so long. Our office got a wave of approvals this last week for our more complicated cases (ones with crimes or immigration courts) and Nebraska Service Center cases, so it looks like they are starting to move through those. I jumped on here to check if anyone that had a removal order after 2007 been approved?

Well, im not really sure. I email director Mayorkas last year and I got and email from her asking me not to bother mr. Maryorkas, and if I ever wanted anything from USCIS to email her instead, that's how I got her email. Hope it work for whoever tries it.

Oh ok. I had emailed Mayorkas last year too but got a response from Patrick Lujan. Probably the same kinda thing. I kept emailing Lujan every month and usually got a generic response but haven't heard from him in months. I decided to email the new director today too and actually got a response. She said "I'm sorry it's taken so long to adjudicate your case. I'll refer this is the appropriate office for follow up." I was surprised I actually got a response directly from her email even though it was just to tell me she pretty much forwarded my email. Her email is [email protected] if anyone else wants to email her too.

Yeah, it was in another thread. It's very interesting and at the same time, it's a very 'simple' checklist. There should be no reason why things take long.

Point being is that the example of the checklist give has specific information for that applicant maybe if someone whos app is taking too long gets the foia and it includes this checklist for their own process theyll get a better idea as to what was considered for their case? Also, it would trigger in their system the need of that specific file due to the FOIA

I just cannot comprehend why it takes so long. Background checks should not take that long, everything is in computers and databases now, and if you want to verify, you've got DOBs and dates and cities and stuff like that.

Saying that I've been waiting for TEN months because a flag was raised whenever they ran my background check and them asking for more background checks should not mean a wait longer than a couple of months. If some of us are getting credit cards without a SSN, it should not be that difficult for them to find information.
