Yo - Just bumping this because it may help someone but:

"i know of at least several incidents where the interviewee asked the officer what if the full name was very long

almost always the response was to use smaller characters and use one line only"

So, when they want signatures they want your full name not printed... and no fancy autographs.

i thought i would share the right way to sign

-Application Sent: August 28/29 -Application Processed : September 03
-Biometrics Appointment letter :September 14, 2012
-Biometrics Taken:September 28, 2012 ( no Walk-in )
-Form I821D approved on:November 5 --Form I765approved on: November 6
-Approval wait (no weekends): Day 25

I highly doubt the majority of applicants signed the correct way. Not disagreeing with you on the topic, but USCIS should mention how they would like the signature if it does cause delays.
