Hello and thank you in advance,
So I just got hired today here in California but I cannot find my EAD card. My DACA also expires 10/17. My new employer needs my EAD card or a receipt saying I am getting a new card (which I heard works too). I was wondering what I should do. Will I still be hired if I show them the EAD receipts from two years ago along with my social security and ID. Or do I need to order a new EAD card and how long will it take for me to get a receipt notice. And will ordering a new EAD card interfere with my current DACA renewal?

I know it is a lot of questions but I am desperate.

Thank you

How do you lose a VERY important Doc? but anyways. I would suggest you wait for your renewal if it expires 10/17/2014 but if not well order a new one at the great price of $400 bucks. Best wishes

I was evacuated from my building because the structure was unstable and some of my things were lost. Thank you for your answer. Does any body know how long it will take me to get my receipt notice to show my employer? I can't really wait.

It took me a week to get i797 saying they got my renewal, and two weeks for biometrics . Everybody has different time so it's hard to give you a timeline.

Do you atleast have the envelope and letter that came with your EAD? That would work too. It has a unique bar code on it. But yeah you're going to have to spend another $400 or so sorry brah.

Take your I-797 Notice of Action showing you were granted Deferred Action also. I'm not talking about the immigration letters. I'm referring to the exact piece of paper with the U.S. seal of approval that your case is deferred. That should be more than sufficient

you need your EAD to get hired, no exceptions, if you lost your EAD, you will need the approval of notice you got and ask for a new replacement. You will need to pay the fine again and it will take some weeks but no more than a month I think.
