I seriously can't imagine thinking. "Gosh! you leave OP alone! hes the REAL victim here! So what he was driving under the influence, hes already going through a MUCH harder time!!"

No, you are NOT the victim here, and I really do hope your experience driving intoxicating and arrested really does scar for you life and teaches you to never drink and drive.
No one said he was a victim. He didn't post on here to ask if he did something wrong. He knows he did, he's asking about his case. I think I speak for a lot of posters on here when I say this, no one cares about your shallow opinion on why he needs to check himself in to alcoholism rehab.. You don't know the situation he was in.

For all we know OP could of had one beer in his home, OP gets a call from the hospital that his mother is in there in critical condition so he rushes over to see his mother and wasn't drunk.. Cop pulled him over for speeding, smelled some alcohol on his breath and arrested him.

You just never know people's stories so stop judging them. I always see you trying to put people down and I would bet my life on it you're an outcast who gets no attention in life and comes online to try having some sort of say.. Find something more productive to do with your time please.

Manimhappy,

you are the exact reason why I stopped checking these site for a year. Some of you dreamers who like to give self righteous, entitled, better-than-thou advice/opinion/comments are not better than the racist anti-immigrant people who can't stand dreamers. DUI no dui some people see us as one in the same; we get lumped together good and bad. We constantly have people rooting against each and every dreamer so why the need to come down on one of our own for making a mistake. No one is perfect and I am confident no one thinks drinking and driving is acceptable, but we are not and should not be the ones to cast stones. Those dreamers who come down on dreamers are worst than those who oppose our very existence. Rather than offering sage advice some decide to give unsolicited judgement. The OP posted his dilemma in hopes to receive the best advice and on how to proceed. Shame on those who take this opportunity to come down on someone when they are already probably feeling scared, ashamed, shitty, worried and probably considers this not their shining moment.

Seriously -_-
I think you have the users confused or you are really.... i dont even know.

Look at the posts, the piano guy is the one accusing the OP of being an alcoholic, degenerate, and mentally unstable among other things. Manimhappy pretty much said the same thing you did....

OP was given advice from multiple angels, I even googled him what USCIS says about this and whats the most important thing regarding his arrest. He already knows what to do and has done it.

I get the feeling people standing up for DUI arrested people don't understand the magnitude driving under the influence is. Imagine driving a 2k ton vehicle intoxicated, with out the ability to make fair judgements. How hard is it to imagine how dangerous that is? How is it hard to think back of the number of victims who have suffer thanks to people who drink and drive?

I told the same thing to my very own cousin after he was convicted of a DUI, fortunately for him, hes a USC. I tell this to anyone who drives under the influence. Driving under the influence is a serious thing and many people have been affected by it. Do you tell this to anyone who says driving under the influence is bad?

Not to mention that people out there are just looking for stuff like this to make us ALL look good. Doesn't matter how good most of dreamers are or how much they have given to society, it just takes ONE bad apple to make the rest of us look bad. Dreamers here need to understand that due to our status here, there's is a much much lower tolerance of the actions we take and our consequences can be use against us by people just looking for any excuse to make us look bad.

Thank you all for your support. I AM NOT a victim here. I committed the crime of drinking and driving. But I cant sit and hate myself my whole life. I came to this forum for advice. I feel my life is on the line and I need to fix my mistake. Whatever the cost might be. Most of you understand that people make mistakes. Thanks for not being quick to judge and looking for any information on my case. This person who chooses to judge me. I respect you. You have your opinions and I came here w my story. Just know I'm a dreamer too. I grew up here like you did. I pay from my pocket to go to college , I waited impatiently for DACA as you did. I felt alone for not having papers like you did. I made one costly mistake. And that was the end of it. I will get all the help that I need.

No, just alcoholic. Please show me the post where I accused the guy of being a degenerate, a mentally unstable person and other things. I can't find that part all.

You need to understand the severity of this one mistake, because as much as people here hate to judge, the bottom line is, that one SINGLE mistake could have taken the lives of people. As harsh as my judgement filled post are, I do honestly wish you the best regarding the outcome of this mistake and hope your lawyer comes through for you.

Isn't that what you are essentially inferring with posts like these?

Here is the textbook definition of Degenerate just for you:

having lost the physical, mental, or moral qualities considered normal and desirable; showing evidence of decline.

are we really going to argue about the semantics of that post now, out of everything you could have use against me, you chose that path?
