That is so much money. I would wait until the official rules and requirements are out. $2,500 is way too much money, give that your family will be the ones looking for the documents, he will just put it together, which I'm sure you will be able to find help doing so on a forum like this. I would only hire a lawyer if I had an arrest on record

"Too much" is a bit subjective. I did a google search and the first result was this website that will do it for $200. Another site said anything between $1300-$5000. For me, I don't want to even wait a day longer than I have waited already so I think with the benefit of 2 years' of doing DACA work, my lawyer has the best chance between the two of us to send in the application correctly the first time. The higher price also means his office is not going to be bombarded by applicants the way the $1000 Abagados are.

Best of luck. Go over your final paperwork before they send it just in case.

I understand you completely, I was 30 when I did my DACA , I had nothing in my name since being out of school since I was 18. I gladly paid a lawyer to fill out my paper work. DO YOU !!! Believe you me this isn't going to be like the first go round IMO, Congrats and good luck!!!

Yeah I have a feeling it's going to be madness this time around. There is higher potential for fraud too so there will likely be more scrutiny and any little thing wrong can delay things more.

I'm sure the Fraud level will be up, But I can't be worried about that, neither should either of you. If you are who you claim to be, you quailfy, with evidence. So What? I'm 34 I've been worry about "How Long is it gonna take for something to happen for me since I was 17. I'm done worry about things I have NO cntrol over. I just know, I'll be submitting my package the day after I return from my 1st Vacation of the year. I have an insumontable amount of evidence, Tax Statements, since 1998, Lease Aggreements, Driver License Records, Courts, Employment Records, Airline Travel Stubs, Hotel Confirmations, Bank Statements, Credit Card Statements, Rental Car Receipts, Receipts From Clothes Orders, Fedex, Ups, Ebay, Amazaon... I could go ON! The Common trend I see with reading from some the post is this, The embedded "FEAR', some of us still have... No beleif in our abilties or ourselves.(IamAman), putting no hope in his abilties to fill out 7 pages, but putting ALL Hopes in a Lawyers hand, who wouldn't spit on him, if he was on fire, (Unless ofcourse he's all paid up). All due to living in the shadows for so long. In the next 2 months, PLEASE mind away to change that mindset, even with whatever peice of paper you're given unless you change you mindset, you'll still be in the shadows... #GoodLuckToYouALL

I honestly think you're doing the right thing by hiring a lawyer. At first I thought $2,500 was too much for DACA but then I realized not all of us have an easy cases. Even if filling out the application is easy, it doesn't mean you're safe and you'll get approved. You mentioned your case is complicated and you're right about your lawyer knowing best specially when deciding what kind of evidence to send. Some people don't realize that sending the wrong documents can get you denied or even deported. Good luck and best wishes!

Actually my lawyer charges this amount for anybody who needs DACA. He has a pricing scale though and if you are a wife and husband applying for daca together or several kids in the same family and address, they save $500 each.

Angel, with the fraud I meant that they would be extra picky so a mistake could be thought of as possible fraud and delay things. My life is hard right now so I don't want to be doing what I'm doing a minute longer than I need to.

Getting denied won't put you at risk of being deported. Don't make stuff up.
