Hello,

In May 2013, I posted that I was approved for Advance Parole [educational purposes] to study abroad in Germany. I applied for AP when the option first came out in Feb 2013 and successfully studied in Germany from Sep 2013 - Jan 2014. Here is my old thread: http://dreamact.info/forum/showthread.php?t=50180 - lost my account info

Today, my case status for I821D renewal has been updated to approved!

USCIS received my application 6/19/14, biometrics were done 7/17/14, my case was put in Additional Review on 8/18/14 (had to call a Level 2 representative to find out. This was most likely due to AP - my sister and I had the same timeline and she was approved at a normal rate), and my original DACA expired 9/27/14 (last Saturday). I was approved last night 9/29/14, which confirms that AP does delay the renewal process - at least for the first AP applicants, since protocol for DACA renewals with AP might not have been established yet.

Rarely post on here, but I saw that several people had questions about AP. Hope this helps, have a great day everyone

Best,
J

Yes, in my renewal application, I included all relevant documents regarding my AP and time abroad, including copies of the original Advance Parole approval letter, exchange program acceptance letter from my university, round-trip flight tickets, and my passport visa page stamped "U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Paroled, Purpose: DACA".

Regarding the I-765 page -
Date of last entry: date I returned to the US
Place of last entry: the airport I flew into from Europe
Status at last entry: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
Current immigration status: Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals

Thank you and good luck - hope everything goes smoothly!

I called the USCIS National Customer Service Center (NCSC) - 1-800-375-5283
When you first speak with a representative, the rep will repeat information you already know from "My Case Status". Explain that you applied for a DACA renewal and travelled with AP in the past, which is most likely delaying your application, and request to speak with a Level 2 representative. The higher-up rep is able to give you a bit more detail about your case

this helps a lot ould you please help me with the following questions,

On form I-821D
Part 2. 1. I have been continuously residing in the U.S. since at least June 15, 2007, up to the present time.
Should I answer Yes or No since I have briefly left US for 2 weeks using AP.

Part 2. 6.c. Reason for Departure
answer "humanitarian" should be sufficient, right? or I should go into specifics?

They received my app August 26 and I'm still waiting. I travelled to Mexico early last year. I started thinking that advanced parole is delaying my process too.
