The belief is with a lawyer backing your case or an immigration organization you're more likely to get approved easier and quicker and not wait 6-9 months.

Also I live in Maryland, I thought the lock box I would send my documents to is in Chicago but then I read a website that said Dallas. Which is it?
Hola yummy11226 no it's not true, I didn't used a lawyer actually my sisters applied together one of them used a lawyer $950 dlls.. (crazy) and the other one decided to do it her self, guess who got approved first.. the one that did it by her self, also she was the one who helped me with my application, and I also got approved, so no I honestly don't think a lawyer is necessary unless you have some background issues, I think it depends on the officer that gets your case.
Good Luck and Hopefully everything goes well

there is no reason to have a lawyer. even if you have a complicated case you will probably still get a rfe with a lawyer. no time is sped up with a lawyer because you will have very little interaction with uscis you only need a lawyer if you get denied unfairly or something like that.
good luck

Hey guys can someone help me out with a application that was submitted.
I have a few questions,

-Here's my timeline-
Received: September 19 2014 (Nebraska SC)
I-797 NOA: October 3 2014
Biometrics: October 21 2014
Payment problem: October 10
Replacement payment: October 23
New I-797 NOA: Receipt date/ September 22 2014 with notice date November 2 of successful payment

So I had a payment problem where they couldn't process my payment, I returned an alternative pay trough their gov website,
I was just wondering if my application will take longer to get looked at because of that payment deal or since it does say receipt day :sep 22nd it will still be on track?

I applied for it on Monday(address problems delayed my card for a month) so I haven't gotten it yet.

It takes a month or so for them to take up your case after your bio. If they stopped your case they would have sent you a message when they stopped or restarted your case.

So I received a text and email today about my EAD saying it was approved. I'm exited but worried it might be a glitch cuz my DACA still says initial review? Any one know if it's legit or mistake? (
