Just found this thread. I find this very helpful as I hope to be approved for AP and then get an AOS after I'm married. I'm currently engaged and my fiance and I will be getting married Labor Day weekend of 2016! Good luck to everyone here that has successfully used AP and is now in the process of AOS.

Just re-entered through JFK yesterday, got married right before I left, going to start working on AOS papers. Immigration officer actually told me I should get my GC in less than six months.

Just returned from traveling to Canada. It was a very smooth return. This was a pre-clearence airport where the checking by CBP is done before your flight and after its treated as a domestic flight.

Got my boarding pass. went to the visitors line (much shorter than the blue passport holder line. Luckily i got there time i did as behind me i saw about 20 people come on fairly quickly). I waited my turn. presented my docs (advance parole, work permit, passport, boarding pass) to the CBP officer. Joked around a bit, was nice and courteous. She just asked my birthdate. Took my prints of both hands and my pic. Then placed my docs in a yellow envelope and walked with me to the secondary check room. We had a nice talk the whole time and very casual.

When we got to the second room she asked me to sit and handed my docs to the other CBP officer. he gave me a sheet to fill which asked for my name, bio info, parents / spouse naem, where i stayed, where i live, where i work. Filled that out and gave to him. He was also nice and stated that he will get me out of here as soon as possible. While i was waiting i only saw one other officer with a female passenger. She apparently missed her flight due to the secondary check. The officer walked with her to the ticketing coutner and requested they book her on next flight.

About 15 min after i get there the officer comes out and makes a photocopy of my passport. takes me into the room and asks me few questions regarding my stay, where i went, what i do for a living, where i live. Asked about my spouse and if i am in the process of adjusting status. He was under impression i already has a pending 485. i pointed out that i will once i get back but currently i am under DACA. he said OK. checked my baggage and asked me to have a seat back outside. All this time he was very professional and courteous. The whole experience was very straightforward and to the point.

In about 5 minutes he came outside with my documents and said you are good to go. Enjoy the flight. He gave back both advance parole papers. Both had stamps on it and both said paroled for a year instead of 1 day. nothing was stamped on the passport (only stamp was on my boarding pass which said admitted and on my advance parole papers).

that was the whole process. Very smooth and straight forward. I would recommend anyone who has pre clearance to get to airport early as possible and there may be a very busy and you can miss your flight. But overall the whole process was very east and i really liked the CBP agents.

Printed my I94 and will submit my AOS packet mid week. keep you all apprised on what happens next.

where can I get a copy of my I94? i just got my passport stamp and my AP paper..
thanks for the help!
