will definitely look more into. I have begun my transfer process from community college to a 4 year university, so I been quite busy with school. But I will definitely have to get something done sometime soon or I will be stuck with no time and my DACA has to get renewed sometime over the summer so that is more $$$. But thanks for the info and link.

I did have to pay, because the program I did provided room and board + meals. The cost will largely depend on the program you choose. As far as documents, I sent my acceptance letter/email from the program, a brochure of of all the programs available (I highlighted the one I chose), and a letter justifying why I wanted to work on that cause.

I went to volunteer in Jamaica, which is where I am from. The airport experience was quite smooth both going and coming back. Upon return, I went to the Visitors CBP line in ATL airport and was escorted to secondary screening. After my name was called, I went up and got fingerprinted. The officer only asked a few questions: what was the purpose of my trip, how long was it, did I have family in the US, were they citizens.

So nothing too crazy. Overall a very smooth process. Now, I want to travel again!
