I work for a Fortune 300 company, and I highly doubt they are going to let me go on a leave without pay as we're waiting for the bureaucracies to do their work.
I am sure we can do so if only we can direct our questions/concerns to someone who actually cares and has the power to escalate it.

I found a recommendation from 2008 from the Ombudsman to the director of USCIS that makes so much sense. Too bad they haven't yet implemented it.

Quote:
Modify I-797 Receipt Notices for EAD applications to provide language for continued employment authorization.
Modify the Form I-797 Receipt Notice for EAD applications by adding language similar to: “This Receipt Notice, when presented in combination with an expired EAD card (or a student visa and OPT I-20, in the case of OPT) issued to a beneficiary with the same name, shall serve as an Interim Employment Authorization Document for a period not to exceed 240 days from 90 days after the receipt date.” When a conditional resident files the Form I751 (Petition to Remove the Conditions on Residence), regulations provide for continued proof of employment authorization.9 The I-797 Receipt Notice language extends this eligibility for one year; the same language could be used on the receipt notice for EAD applications. These measures would eliminate the need for an interim card.

My EAD expires on 10/26/16. When I received my notice for biometrics appointment, there was a separate envelope (Notice of Action) with the information for the USCIS online account. I noticed that on this second envelope received, the form had a priority date of 5/31/16, for those who have received the USCIS online account information, what is the priority date signify?
My application was received on 4/5/2016 and my receipt has a priority date of 3/31/2016. I really don't know what these mean.
The priority date on my letter is 4/5/16 which is:
  • 3 days before the actual day they received my application 4/8/16
  • It's 152 days before my DACA/EAD expires 9/4/16
So my guess is that the priority date is there to make sure your case gets looked at before your DACA/EAD expires. So when they say they're looking at cases from Feb 12, they're looking at cases received then and cases with the same priority date.

Based on this, I do think that USCIS is doing what they can to prevent expiration since and that my case will be approved before my expiration date.

Edit:
Tardis_TX priority date is 148 days from his expiration.
chessmaster05 priority date is 139 days from his expiration.

Hi All,

I submitted letters to: President Obama, Mrs. Obama, Vice President Biden, the White House, CNN, NBC, my local news channels, and my local congressman. My goal is to try to bring some awareness to the issue, since USCIS could care less about us. I don't know if I'll get a response from any of them, but it can't hurt to try.

I am going in for my Info Pass appointment tomorrow and will see what they have to say- which I'm sure is more of the same. Here's to still hoping for some renewals.

Have a question: Were interim EADs offered for DACA renewals at one point? I think I remember reading on the USCIS page about the possibility of an interim permit in case an EAD expired before a decision was made, back during the first renewal round in 2014. Am I correct or am I losing my mind from all this renewal stress and imagining things?
Mine moved pretty fast. They already mailed my bio letter (less than a week). They must have noticed my expiration date and felt bad!

I think this was an excellent idea! Please keep us posted if you receive a response.
