I feel like this is the cause of some prideful individuals at USCIS. They don't want to abandon ELIS and admit to it being a failure. They'll just keep throwing money into it and eventually get it right. Remember ELIS was supposed to be the future of immigration processing.

The person I spoke with was perfectly nice, yet very unhelpful.

He suggested I submit a service request for extreme hardship. When I said ok lets do it, he said he wasn't capable of creating a service request for me. (so then why even suggest it, right?)

He said some computers were down and I would literally have to play phone roulette and see if I get lucky enough to speak with an officer who can submit a service request for me.

By this point I was ready to blow my lid. WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY SO UNHELPFUL AT USCIS!!!!

It has to be politics. It just has to. I've seen people on facebook who literally did their bios and ONE day later get approved.

I am just so over this whole process as i'm sure many of you are. I know a lot of people are getting approved daily. But this hass got to stop. It's effectively put everything on hold. All my plans. All my savings are now being used for daily expenses. Its not fair. This whole process is not fair.

With that said, has anyone filed an Extreme Hardship Service Request on this forum, and if yes did anything come of it?

Thanks for reading.
The guy I spoke to when I called said the same exact thing. Literally the same thing. Probably a lie. Told me to call later. Or the next day or 2 days after that

9-15-16 and my application was received 4-11-16. One thing that has me worried is that I'm not one hundred percent sure I put the correct receipt notice on the paper I filled out during the biometric appointment. Does anyone know if that can be a problem?
They should have double checked that for you before taking your fingerprints, at least they did that when I did mine

They are also supposed to give you back that applicant information worksheet after the biometrics appointment.

Give it time, as almost everyone is in for a ride, and who knows how long a case will take...just gotta hope for the best and start reaching out to USCIS when things start looking irregular.
Several confirmation numbers around minehave already been approved and I haven't even gotten my biometrics appt. yet... Mine expires in 10 days

Figures...will just have to keep an eye out for the mail I suppose...Thanks for the info...

If you've completed your bio, then it is just a waiting game...and as far as I know, the "normal" is basically not getting an update at all between "Bio Scheduled" to "You Have Been Approved"...heck, some people never got an update ever, and just received their EAD in the mail...lovely case tracking system eh?...lol...just gotta keep hoping and go about your life the best you can.

I think it was debunked that looking at cases around your case number doesn't mean much as there is some kind of randomization to the case #s...so take that for what its worth...

The best advice I can give you is to brace yourself while hoping for the best...there are people literally past half a years worth of waiting and still no approval because of this fucking ELIS system.

Hopefully it blossoms into a badass online system that works properly soon, but not holding my breath as I remember seeing an article that stated that ELIS is so screwed up that USCIS is just working with the broken mess while slowly trying to fix it by 2018 / 2019...yea...YEAR TWO THOUSAND FUCKING NINETEEN...that encompasses another renewal cycle for many of us...can't escape this shit...
