For those of you that have been told that multiple service requests will push your application to the back of the line, I call b.s. because I submitted 7 requests last week through all the different lines of communication to USCIS (congressman, ombudsman, e-request, SSCOPS, IRLC, NRLC, NCS) and my application was finally approved yesterday. I'm sure my expiration date had something to do with it (9.22), but when it gets that close to your expiration date you should do everything you can to get it approved. Good luck to the rest. I 'll keep you updated on my EAD status, which has yet to be approved.

Hi guys quick question. Have any of you guys had the following issue:

I found out I got approved through my ELIS account on 9/13. On 9/16 the "check my status" tracker now shows that my card has gone into production, but my 821d application does not state approved on the "check my status tracker" . Now, On ELIS my I-765 form switched to just be "received" instead of approved, but my 821d shows approved on ELIS.

Any thoughts?

This is good advice, if you're nearing expiration yes absolutely hound them to protect yourself. Another thing to consider is to realize that the USCIS HQ and service center email requests are often delayed by 2 to 3 weeks (as far as recognizing and responding), so you'll have to stack them way in advance to have any effect.

I've gotten several emails from uscis & ombudsman days/weeks even after my renewal process has already closed due to this lag.

This waiting game sucks. Day 4 for me being out of work
Receipt: 5/3/16
Bio: 6/30/16
EAD Expired: 9/18/16

IRLC and NRLC both elevated my case. Called USCIS yesterday and the officer said my case was elevated (Prob from IRLC/NRLC) and that I cant elevate it until XX many days again. I see some approvals from the 5/3/16 receipt days so hopefully my turn will come within the next few days!

Hello Everyone,
My EAD expired on Sep 8. I've been out of work since... I was given 30 days to resolve my situation, but by the looks of it I think it will take longer. My application for renewal was received on April 24th. I've called USCIS and each time I call I get a different story. A few weeks ago I called and they said the Nebraska center was working on March 4th applications. Today I called and was told they are barely working on March 24th. I've submitted several requests and I keep getting different responses, one of them being that they've had to do several background checks and that's why it's taking longer. Today I spoke to a USCIS rep and she suggested to get an info pass and try to get a temporary work permit. She said it's normally not given with Daca but she knows a few people have gotten a temporary one. Is this true? I have an info pass and I wonder if I might be able to get a temporary work permit. Let me know if it might be possible.

By most accounts here, no, we are not able to get temporary work permits. I'd suggest you go to the appointment and see what comes out of it, it doesn't hurt to try, however, don't expect much, not many of the people in this forum have gotten much out of going to those appointments.
