can you elaborate more?
That extra 2 years can be life changing for us. You should make a new thread about this.

They can't take back the socials they gave you or the licenses you received. Even if Trump does indeed cancel DACA, the expiration date on your current EADs still remain valid because if you are employed they already have your information until you need to renew again. So if you are employed and have EAD that expires in two years, you can work through expiration.

I don't think they can take away every DACAs recipients EADs just like that, how many thousands of people does it affect? I think they can cancel program and not have anyone else file for it but to ones that have been deferred already, I don't think it can be taken away so easily just like deporting millions of people can not be done so easily. It will costs billions of dollars and just too much effort. What I think will be done is the deporting those with criminal records which should be done and securing the border and stricter immigration vetting and the such. That's pretty much it. I doubt there will be mass deportations on a grand scale. That was just rhetoric Trump used to cater to his base. Who knows what will happen? We can pray for the best. Rememeber 2 of Trumps wives were immigrants he gave green cards to and he employed many illegals himself. So how anti immigration can he be? I dunno.

He said he will cancel DACA and form his deportation force in his first 100 days, along with a bunch of other things. How likely is that to happen?

Okay I have cried like 3 times today when learning that Trump has won and that his views towards DACA is to end it. I moved to Seattle and live on my own...no family or friends near me to talk to. I am 21, I was promoted at my current job and was sooo happy living my life...now I don't know what to do. I have been on the computer trying to get an idea of what will happen, but there is no accurate answer. Most likely, it seems that our time with DACA is done...I have laid all day doing nothing. Because when you don't know, literally, what your future holds, you can't move forward. I will continue to go to work, but I don't know what to expect in my life here and I was feeling pathetic and hopeless all day. However, I just spoke to my mom from back home and she was like, "stop crying, you have gone through worse! So what if you don't have work permit or residency, or even if you move back, you will have an amazing life because you are smart and beautiful!" And I am writing this because I stopped laying on my bed hopeless, I have realized, even before the DACA, I had dreams and belief in myself. Even when I was illegal, I knew I had a bright future, not because I was in the states, but because I am me and I believed in myself to keep on going even if odds are against me, and to never give up. I want all of you DREAMERS to never forget that because we fought the waves that was against us from day one, we will never give up on our futures, if we fall we will find a way to stand up again.

Most Americans are okay with illegal aliens and believe they should be offered a path into status. If we go by polls/surveys and we all know how reliable those are. But if trump actually began deporting people would Americans care to stop it ? They didn't when Obama was and I doubt they will With trump

I'm sorry I felt and was the same way today. Every time I watched the news I would cry, you're not alone. Today really wasn't a good day for a lot of people. Look at what's going on with these protests across the cities. Trump being elected president is affecting a lot of people, not only us immigrants but Muslims, minorities, etc. It's going to be rough but we have to take it day-by-day. Thanks for sharing.

It's so true , I didn't hit me until I got up in the morning and I was at work. Some people at my work voted for Trump, while other didnt. But they all spoke about it like it was a tv show. I hated there was no one I could talk to at work . To them it's a tv show , to us, it's our lives at stale. We have been given hope and struck down when the dream act was close on going through. Now it's the same as daca, we have gone through this already with the dream act, we can get through this too

Where's your source? From what I remember, those who received 3 year expanded DACAs got to keep theirs if it came out BEFORE the program was halted.

You are absolutely right. I just checked and only those who got their permits post injunction needed to return them. This is an important detail I missed and it gives me a bit of hope that we'll have at least some time to figure things out.
