That's like your opinion and stuff.

but honestly, i don't condone stupid acts. Our situations are fragile as it is and on top of it you go out and commit a crime? Not to mention the bad name it gives us, gtfo.

Easy to judge when somebody else blows it. Was it smart, definitely not. But why beat them up about it. Which is what you specifically came in this thread to do. You know nothing of them. And bad name? Those who give us bad names are those who are trying to get us deported. Regardless of anything else. Every daca recipient could be spot free and clean (which not all are) and we'd still have a bad name.

I am sorry for the people who feel that they have a right to judge when they don't even know the person or their situation.

I suggest you go with an immigration attorney. I recommend one that specializes in criminal law. Not all of them do so don't waste your time and money on one who doesn't specialize on both. Laws are different from state to state so an answer from original poster may not help you much. But the outcome of your case could make a difference. So get an attorney! Don't settle with the first answer though, get at least a second opinion. Every case is different but definitely get an attorney. Good luck!

One my of my friends told me that his friend got caught drinking and driving and they took his DACA away. I am not sure what your situation is but you may not be able to renew. By the way what were you under the influence of?

Right, we know nothing of them except that they got a DUI and that, that's pretty bad. It doesn't matter how you got the DUI, the point is you got a DUI.

“it is important to emphasize that driving under the influence is a significant misdemeanor regardless of the sentence imposed.” This means that a misdemeanor DUI conviction will be deemed a significant misdemeanor under DACA even if no jail sentence is imposed.

I mean, when I applied for DACA I read every single prerequisite, over and over. You're applying with the knowledge that you cannot break the law. but yet here we are.

So, sympathy from fellow Dreamers for breaking the law? i don't think so.

MANY of us have NO RECORD what so ever. its VERY EASY TO KEEP A CLEAN RECORD.

You can't excuse a DUI, just simply put.

How do you excuse a DUI?
"oh, my friend was drunk, and so i had less to drink so i thought to drive us home"

don't give me that "you don't know my life" bs.

the ultimate answer is, get a lawyer. the end.

yeah that line

"easy to judge when somebody else blows it"

Blows it meaning: They decided to drink, this was their choice no one else but theirs. Were they forced to drink? Were they forced to attend that drinking session?

So youre telling me a judge would be open to hear whatever BS excuse you trow and see it yourway?

"well judge... I was super depressed my grandma died you just don't understand i HAD to drink, I HAD to get wasted that night!!"

You see how stupid this sounds?

And here's the point. You come in to add nothing to their inquiry. For what? Just to be able to have something to say that nobody asked for?

Although off-subject, it is my understanding that anybody could chip in their 5 cents. And in return you get to voice your opinion! Awesome isn't it?
