Hey Dreamer3000. I'm stunned to read this part you wrote below. If an undocumented immigrant is administratively closed, then he or she can apply for a work permit? Where can I confirm this please? Thank you!

Actually, there might be a legal technicality here for us to keep our EAD's. From what I know, you can have an EAD as long as you have a "case pending". Cases usually start when you come into contact with ICE and are referred to court, and there the judge can grant administrative closure, Prosecutorial Discretion, or Deffered Action (like DACA). When someone gets PD, Admin Closure, or DA, they get to keep an EAD and renew each year because even though their case is no longer on the active docket, the case is still "ongoing" until a final decision is rendered.?

I'm not 100% sure of the details, and I'm sure it's on a case by case basis, but read this:

http://www.immigration-america.com/archives/550

The important part is this:

"It is important to know that in this particular case even though the applicant’s counsel and the government’s counsel as well as the immigration judge specifically noted that the Department of Homeland Security would continue to permit the applicant to receive work authorization, the case did not turn on that particular fact. Rather, the case turned on the issue that an order of administrative closure was not a final order, and therefore an administratively closed case continued to remain “pending”.

The holding on in this case therefore affects all such administratively closed cases where a respondent applies for a renewal of employment authorization."

Please always consult with an attorney before making any moves on your own. I was not giving legal advice or anything, just asking for others opinions on what I was talking about because I am not sure if it has merit or not. I've heard that if they end DACA that pro immigrant groups might try to sue, and I think my argument would be a good basis for such a lawsuit, but I am not an attorney so I don't really know. Hopefully something positive gets worked out in our favor.

Very interesting. The problem is that many professionals travel around the country when working, including me. If DACA ends than we would not be able to get on a plane.

Im not sure this is true. You will still have a valid (non-expired) ID until it ends.

For example, I will have a Texas DL that is valid until 8/18 so even if they rescind DACA and My DL becomes null, the only thing that TSA checks is that your non-expired ID matches your ticket name. So we will still be able to travel until our IDs eventually expire.
