Things are gonna get ugly for a lot of people.

All these measures sadden me because I know what it feels like.

"criminals" can mean different things to different politicians and political groups. generally, politicians single out "criminals" as the ones they want to focus on deporting, but as we have seen, even with presidents who have had good intentions like Obama, many innocent families and individuals get caught in the crossfire and people defend or ignore it on the basis that they are "criminals" too because they broke the law by coming here illegally.

so no, maybe this wall is not going to affect us DACA recipients directly, but it might affect us indirectly.

i personally find it extremely distasteful to have an attitude of "sucks for them" simply because we are hanging on a thread given to us by Obama. remember how it is we got here; we should not be indifferent or much less appeased that is it another immigrant group instead of us.

We did not commit the action of coming here...

Tbh my parents want to go back to Mexico. Fuck, my girlfriend's parents want to go back and they are citizens.

Also, we grateful that immigration is all of a sudden the Hottest topic everywhere. Time to tackle the issues once and for all!!!

this is something that should matter to the US government, but not something that should matter to us. i was two months old when i was brought here. did i make the choice? absolutely not. but i understand the reasons why my parents made this choice for themselves and for me.

so, just because it "was not my fault" does not mean i am suddenly better than the ones who did choose to come here illegally (provided that they had good intentions), e.g. parents, family members, friends.

4 million times $20k

That's enough to build the damn wall and have extra for the nation's infrastructure.
Sounds like a mighty fine immigration plan to me. Simple and effective. I don't understand how not one person in Congress has realized how much they could cash in by allowing us to legalize through a hefty fine.

Only flaw to it is that for us with EADs, $20k seems reasonable, but for the mass majority working illegally, that could actually surmount to quite a bit of money. Hell, $20k was my yearly income pre-DACA. It would take some time for people to save up that much money during which they could be subject to deportation. There would have to be some way to allow qualifying immigrants to stay while they gather up enough money.

I never said we are more. Just our situation and liability should be different.

I feel for my parents and Friends who aged out.

My parents accept they made a mistake. They have paid for it with 15 years of hard work at shitty places.

We have to stay to make sure we can fulfill their dreams that never were.

Exactly, Trump hasnt even put forward a plan to legalize us and people are already throwing their parents and family under the bus.

I wouldn't see it as a flaw. And like any immigration plan, it doesn't have to help everyone. I see it as a national interest. If you can sustain yourself and save money responsibly, it means you are not a burden.
