There's a lot of speculation about whether re-entering the country illegally might fall into the criminal basket. Or overstaying your visa... see, as long as Trump remains in office, there will always be hesitation about what he pledges for.

You can't say we will be fine after those executive orders. If DACA ends and you get stopped at a checkpoint, you are done. I'm afraid many Dreamers will fall before we get a permanent solution.

If DACA ends and there is no replacement of any kind, then yes you are right, in that scenario we will be in a lot of trouble. We would be in the same position that a lot of our parents are in right now, only with the added bonus of the government knowing exactly where we live. But we won't know for sure where we stand for about 4 weeks. Personally, I am going to wait until there is some real news before I start making any drastic moves like quitting my job and going back to the shadows.

I thought we'd be fine too before Trump took office. But seeing how everything is turning out, it's all unpredictable. The only thing that is positive is that no matter what happens, we still have some time left until our EADs expire.

How is it unpredictable? Every time Trump is asked about us, he says do not worry about it, and we are terrific people. DACA still stands up to this day, don't you think if Trump wanted to get rid of us he would of done it already?

The EOs he signed should not be unpredictable to anyone. We knew from day one he was going to ban certain countries/muslims. We knew from day one he was going to go after criminals. We knew from day one he was going to build the wall.

Even if we could take Trump's statements at face value, they are still way too vague to be of any real comfort. For example, his version of having a "big heart" could be something like ending DACA but not making moves to actively deport us. So his version of us "being fine" amounts to not getting deported (at least not right away). Problem is that simply "not getting deported" isn't enough anymore. When our work permits expire we will lose our careers, our homes, our driver licenses, and our ability to feed ourselves and our families. We will be out on the streets and life will be so miserable that a lot of us would self deport.

On the other hand, he did say he would roll out "something" in the next 4 weeks. If that "something" just turns out to be the leaked EO then that would be considered the biggest trolling in human history. Personally I'm hoping his "something" is ending DACA for new applicants but allowing current beneficiaries to be grandfathered and continue to renew. That way he could claim he kept his promise and ended DACA, but also dealt with us in a fair way with a lot of heart. I am still worried though, it's going to be a rough 4 weeks on my nerves waiting for that decision to drop.

It has been 22 days since Trump took office. There is no reason I can think of for him to sign the same leaked EO now instead of earlier. I think at minimum, we will end up with something better than the leaked EO.

Maybe we will be ok. Everyone just stay out of trouble. No drugs or drinking and driving. We should be gucci

I think at a minimum DACA will end, no new applicants and renewals will still be accepted. That's the only option that will please both sides.
