Still in fear but will definitely consider! I'm excited and nervous at the same time...
I will talk to my fiance about experience of y'alls.
I've heard the same. Compared to Maui, I hear Kauai is less developed so less tourists, but way more to do outdoors. The hiking is incredible. If you do decide maui, take a day to do the Rode to Hana. Plan it out before hand bc once you're driving there is no reception haha. We ended up just winging it. Still great, but with better planning we could have gotten more done. Anything else, feel free to PM me. If I don't have the answer, I'm sure my wife will. She's been there quite a bit.

It's still in the US. You shouldn't have issues. In the TSA line there were so many different nationalities and passports being shown. Now the risk is if somebody chooses to check any visa pages, but that's a big if. TSA doesn't want to hold up that line. Unless there is a CBP official there, I highly doubt they care. But only you guys can weigh whether the risk is worth it or not.

That's all I used on my flight. Just double check that they are still good to use for air travel. Vaguely remember reading about certain states not being to use the DL for flights. But if they're good to go, all you need is the DL and the tickets.

AP is right: Check that the issuing state of the DL is listed as compliant with Real ID. Either that or that they have been granted the extension , like the case with CA.

If the state is complaint, then all you need to travel in the US is the DL.

Yes yes yes...I have recently started planning on a 2 week vacation for myself sometime in the next couple of years...

I just may decide on Hawaii. I just hope going on vacation solo isn't so bad.

I have never had a vacation opportunity like this in my entire life...I can't wait!!! I hope everything works out OK!!
You serious man? Like I hate to sound like an asshole man but you really should start asking the tough questions to yourself. There's 50 states in America. Hawaii is one of them. Hence if one can travel from Florida to Georgia it is the same thing as traveling from Florida to Hawaii.

Even non-compliant states should be able to fly with just the ID till Jan 2018

Has more to do with never having traveled before than it simply being the same as traveling to any other state...sorry for coming off as a dumdum......s'all good though...

I hear ya, I am actually going to plan the 2 weeks out very meticulously, and research my destination a lot. Things to do, different places to visit etc....ultimately I may end up doing a lot of scuba diving, swimming, water related activities, as I don't have the opportunity to do those things ever.

Honestly I haven't been on much of a vacation at all in decades...so my mind and body is long overdue for a refreshing 2 weeks.

My plan is to go on vacation once I quit my job, and then I will be primed and ready to start college after I return.
