Yes I've been there 3 times. Took my mom twice.

I hear ya, I am actually going to plan the 2 weeks out very meticulously, and research my destination a lot. Things to do, different places to visit etc....ultimately I may end up doing a lot of scuba diving, swimming, water related activities, as I don't have the opportunity to do those things ever.

Honestly I haven't been on much of a vacation at all in decades...so my mind and body is long overdue for a refreshing 2 weeks.

My plan is to go on vacation once I quit my job, and then I will be primed and ready to start college after I return.
At the same time try not to over plan. Pick a few things that are "must do's" and do them. But over planning your vacation will lead you to not do things you wanted to do bc it's simply too much. Trust me, Hawaii is beautiful and overwhelming with the things that you can do. My wife had to rein me in. We did 1 or 2 things a day and had a chance to actually enjoy them and also relax. Instead of rushing to do so much more stuff.

Also for scuba, you have to be licensed. If you don't have the time and money to do that, I suggest you invest in a quality snorkel mask and snorkel. Don't bother so much with fins. They are a dime a dozen over there. You don't want to be renting your mask or snorkel tho. That's just gross haha.

You're gonna have a blast.

Hawaii is a domestic flight so you don't have the reentry issue.

Should Trump get rid of DACA tomorrow, he will let it sun set instead of terminating it overnight, so you should be OK.

Exactly what I was thinking but my MIL is now paranoid by all the rumors of how ICE raid here in our state. OMG I'm so stressed out... I need some proof to show her it's SAFE to travel there. I'm telling her that we just need valid DL but she keeps saying we can't risk it.

I don't want to ruin my honeymoon plan because of some rumors she hears from...

If she doesn't want to risk it, she can stay where she is at.

Actually didn't know you had to be licensed, but I would've found out anyway as I have to research everything before I finalize my plans.

Gotta learn how to swim too...lol...

Can't wait though...very excited...

Yikes!! Definitely don't try scuba this time around. Even very strong and experienced swimmers freak out in the middle of the ocean. Even snorkeling gets a little sketch out there. But definitely try snorkeling. You'll love it. And in Hawaii you don't have to go super far out. You can do it close to shore. Wife and I are pretty good swimmers so we took a raft tour out and swam in the deep. But we did have people in our raft group freaking out bc they couldn't see much land.

I still think it's a huge risk. My aunt flies and she's undocumented.. She lives in Tennessee and flies to CA all the time to visit.. I get worried all the time, especially hearing about undocumented friends and family flying with the CA drivers license that is given here in CA to undocumented people... The ID itself says "federal limits apply" which obviously means you're illegal if you have a CA one. Too risky in my mind
