Over the past few weeks I have read more posts about dreamers being suicidal which I TOTALLY understand. Let me start by saying I am one of the older dreamers who got cut off daca by a few months. Prior to that I had EAD because I had pending cases so I had been blessed to finish school and work for fortune 500 companies and make a good living. I remember the feelings and thoughts of depression and suicide I felt back in June 2012 also in dec 2010 when the senate bill failed by 5 VOTES!

It was a horrible feeling both times and yes I was suicidal for a short period. Then I began to consider those who love me which I have plenty of and I decided to do whatever I could to survive and fight. It hasn't been easy for sure but I'm making it by God's grace. I want to ask all of you who are directly impacted by the announcement of daca being phased out to take a deep breathe. Tonight, hang out with friends and family who care deeply about you. Embrace the love they will shower you with; tomorrow when you wake up your situation will not be different but I implore you to opt for a positive mindset. Will that be easy? No no no! It will be hard as HELL but it will make a difference. Consider writing a letter to yourself documenting what you feel like right now and what your greater purpose in life is. If you do feel suicidal please tell someone who really cares about you. They will hopefully know what to do to help you. If not please send a private message to me and I will try to point you in the direction but you need to get some help.

Remember you are never ALONE in this fight! While it definitely doesn't feel like there is a lot to be hopefully about right now hang on a little longer. If you believe in prayer then pray! Begin to dedicate yourself to becoming the best version of you possible. When we cross this bridge you will be able to help someone else who will face what they consider their version of a life and death decision. With all that being said PLEASE SAY NO TO SUICIDAL THOUGHTS!

P.S. - please do not make jokes about being suicidal; you don't want people to become desensitized to it!

Thank you for sharing your story. I agree, we need to be more sympathetic rather then call these people names. We're all here to help on another.

In addition to the post, please make sure to keep your mental state of mind in check as much as you possibly can. I myself am struggling but we must overcome and survive, not just for us, but for those who love us. Don't give up.

Here's the number to the national suicide hotline if you feel you can't make through this: 1-800-273-8255

Please, please, PLEASE remember to use it if you must. We're all scared, but we're not alone.

gods biggest lesson and lets say you dont believe in god its the lesson all must learn before ever being allowed by life to be happy and strong. that lesson is to be grateful and hopeful of what you dont control. god is in control and what you yourself control can only be controlled only after being positive and hopeful no matter the situation. we must be grateful that daca even happened. we must be grateful for what we have and that will help us to work with what we dont have and will get us what we dont have.

Amen!

As long as there is life there is hope. We could be better, yeah ofcourse. But we could also be worse. And we have to be thankful for what we do have and not worry so much of what we don't have. I am grateful for my kids and they are the fuel that keeps me going. I have to fight for them and provide for them one way or another. Just like our parents did for us. This is a very stressful time for us. But we have to be strong. If not for us than for our families.

You guys are all SO brave.

@Marshall thanks so much for sharing your story. I'm sure many of us have had suicidal thoughts/depression.

As @VJB2 said - I also struggled.....but it's totally worth it to keep going.

Don't give up. Don't lose hope.

Take care my friend and remember - we are all in this together. We are with you. DACA or not....we are all Dreamers.

I'm already dead inside (happened sometime from 2002 to 2011) so the hard part is over for me. This is all like watching the Office after Steve Carell left show now. It's kind of funny but not haha funny I guess. Just going to go through the motions until the final credits roll.
