I have. I'm not too confident it'd go in our favor. My husband doesn't "need" me and we have no children yet. I feel like it's unfair to bring children into the picture with all this legal status uncertainty. We definitely want some but are ok with waiting a few more years. So far, everyone I see approved is either the sole provider for a family or something of that sort.

It's better to just let it all out. I kept myself from telling my fiance for about more than a year and couple months ago I decided to tell him because due to Trump becoming President you don't know what will happen. We've always knew that we will get married. After I told him about my status he was okay with it. I had to explain what DACA was and of course he had some questions and I gladly answered them. So, we've been engaged for about 3 months now. Since DACA was rescinded we are in a realization that my status is not stable and we have to do something about it.

Funny thing my close friends don't know that I have DACA. Only few people knows. My fiance and my family . Hahaha

I'm a female in Texas, now married to a USC (his family doesn't know either).
Get I-601A done, get your your green card and forget that was ever a chapter of your life.

I think this is very much a personal choice you should make for yourself. If you feel comfortable enough to do so and you feel like this decision would make you feel "liberated" in a sense, then go ahead and do so. However, if you are not ready, then don't. It's not mandatory to specify such information to others. It doesn't define who you are. With DACA or not, you are who you are and you have built your business because of hard work - not because of status.

If you decide to come out, I'm sure everything will be just fine!

Don't worry too much.

That's how it works.USCs end up with the prom queen and become a hero for saving her while undocumented guys get treated like shit and told they're only after girls for the green card.

do you have to provide this information to the people in your business? if you do not, i do not see the reason to let them know.

the only people who knew about my undocumented status were my family, my closest friends, and my now husband. all were receptive and sympathetic to my circumstances.

i also once told a teacher in response to their asking why i was not pursuing graduate-level education. he laughed and thought i was joking. apparently i did not fit the description of whatever prejudiced notion he had of undocumented people. i do not think his disbelief was ill-intended, but it made it clear that i was neither "ni de aquí, ni de allá" (from here nor there), and that i should share sensitive information like this only with certain people.

my husband's family does not know about my status, and we will be addressing that later this year; that will be fun.

regarding the waiver - if you are considering this route, i suggest you get legal counsel. my husband and i considered this, but were told it was not a good option for us because 1. we do not have any children and 2. my absence would not be a "hardship" for him because of #1 and because he does not need me financially. so, tread carefully. if you are advised that it is a good option, though, do it! better to try this than to have children just for this purpose.

Thank you for your sweet reply.

No, I do not have to provide any information regarding my legal status to my employees or customers pertaining to my business. So I don't see why I should. I do feel like I could potentially change certain peoples prospective if I was to come out but I'm too chicken to do so. I've gotten that shocked factor you speak of before from certain people who I've shared this with. I'm a very light skinned, light hair Mexican who people usually assume doesn't speak Spanish.

Good Luck addressing your status to your in laws, I'm sure they'll love you regardless.

I totally feel the same way as you do regarding the waiver and have consulted this situation numerous times. My spouse really would only want me to adjust my status so we can travel abroad
