Taxes - Fake SSN to Real SSN

Hello all,

Thankfully, my dad is in process to getting his GC because of my sister's sponsorship. His work permit and SSN are all set. His GC is still processing.

However, my questions is, how does he go about replacing his previous SSN? Also, we have been paying taxes, ever since we step food on this country back in '01. Does that mean all the money he has paid to the IRS under the previous SSN is all lost? Thanks!

Did he use a fake identity? Or just used the SSN number?

Sorry! just a fake ssn number. He always had an ITIN number to pay taxes.

Get a lawyer. A good lawyer. Do not wait. Get a lawyer who knows his/her shit. Do not tell anyone anymore about this fake ssn. If one day the immigration finds out, your father is over... your father is still getting his GC and will have another 2 years before getting his citizenship
