Dating. Just a random question!

Hey all,

So for those who are still undocumented and whose best option toward GC is marrying a USC, when dating, do you consider that as a factor? I know a few friends who have gained GC after falling in love/marrying a US citizen, BUT are there also cases in which undocumented people have married each other? or married a non-US foreigner?

What are your thoughts? Just curious

I think its always on the back on my mind and I see being with a USC as a plus. It is not a determining factor though. I am however afraid to share info about my status because 1) I don't want them to think I am with them for anything other than love 2) do not want that to be used against me - legally or otherwise.

wow that’s great that happened to you! i know that they’ve started recruiting mavni starting FY15 so he must’ve been one of the first batch of DACA to serve in the Army!

Good question... When I was in high school, two undocumented friends of mine were dating. I thought it was ridiculous at the time. Guess what... I've been dating my undocumented love for six years now lmao. I've come to the conclusion... You can't control these things sometimes. I've had everyone from my mother to close friends question and persuade me to leave him (early on the relationship) but I slayed them all. You can't pick who you fall in love with...and our situation will be a story to tell our grandkids in the future. <3
