Watch the last 40 seconds of this video. Some of you guys remind me of Peter Griffin in this scene.

Stop giving away the kitchen sink in negotiations; that isn't how politics works. You remain strong and compromise at the 11th hour in order to concede the least.
By definition, a dreamer is a child who was brought/stayed over illegally at no fault of their own. So, no our parents aren’t dreamers.

I do agree something needs to be done but amnesty for them is a very long stretch right now.

At this point in time we need to accept that Trump/GOP are going to insist on the wall or to end chain immigration or something else that benefits their party. I hate to say it and it sucks but as many of you have said we need to be a little selfish and think about ourselves. Besides, how are you going to help your parents or other relatives if we can’t provide for ourselves?

That isn't how negotiating works. You wear them down and then make an 11th hour compromise. At the present time, as GOP admitted, they have leverage in the beginning of the month.

You have to maintain a strong line.

Also, regarding calling: If your Senator is a Democrat, crafting champions out of supporters is part of organizing. Behind the scenes they can be pushed to rally support in their own caucus, they can vote trade with the GOP on other issues, etc. That's why continued pressure and constituent meetings with them are so important.

Whatever happens, I just think this is the month it has to happen. If it doesn't happen, then it will be very gloomy. It will be evident that Democrats are not serious enough and Republicans do not intend to legalize any of us ever. The least they can do is meet in the middle..maybe not fully fund the wall. Include e-verify. I don't know what's wrong with e-verify tbh with you.

Problem is that unless something is a military budget increase it doesn't have to happen. Democrats really need to filibuster the budget bill on the 19th.

My brother who is a us citizen will turn 21 in August and he’ll be able to sponsor her finally. Now Trumps racist ass wants to take away that chain immigration when she’s so close. Lots of families are in the same situation. I’ll rather not get anything than give Trump everything he wants. He can get his stupid border wall money but that’s it.

I think they are trying to prevent naturalized citizens from petitioning for relatives. As far as I've read, there's no indication at this point of this affecting natural born USCs. Someone correct me if I am wrong, though.

Would be thrown out by the first court to look at it as violation of the equal protection clause. They are going after everything except IR (Spouse and Child), and F2A.

Right. I don't understand how they don't realize this is a clear violation of the equal protection clause. They just spew this nonsense without thinking through what they are actually saying.
