I hate this... sure I’ll benefit from this since I’m a DACA holder, but my parents... they’re so close to finally step out of the shadows thanks to my younger brother’s sponsorship. This is a slap in the face, the more I try and think about why these people hate us so much the worse it gets. I honestly don’t even know what to think anymore

They'd be grandfathered in if a bill like this passed. If there's a pending application.

A. For purposes of determining inadmissibility, “public charge” means an individual who is likely to become primarily dependent on the government for subsistence, as demonstrated by either the receipt of public cash assistance for income maintenance or institutionalization for long-term care at government expense.

i.e. unemployed, disabled, etc.

On top of that having to wait another 10-12 years when we’ve had DACA for 8 and we’ve been here our entire lives? Better off going to Canada, getting the 10 year ban, and then coming back if you wish to.

11 - 10 year citizenship path for DACA; 12 years for people not currently in DACA. WH says 1.8 million would be eligible so guessing this includes kids and people too old for DACA, but who entered as kids and who were over 31 when DACA started.

If the age gap is removed this will affect way more than 1.8 million people. 1.8 is a VERY conservative number.

Only if the entry date is moved from Jun 2007 which will primarily boost the number of younger dreamers ......I think these numbers sound about right in comparison to the estimates released prior to DACA.

How is it possible to have had DACA for 8 years?

When they say 1.8 Million. Do they mean to include aged out Dreamers of 2012 or those that qualified under DACA 2012 but did not apply?
