Huh? We know it will pass the Senate. Today we are waiting to see what will happen in the House.

WHAT"S IN THIS BILL? Let me try to provide a starting summary.
- $296 B more discretionary spending (2 yrs)
- $89 B for disaster funding.
- $6 B opioid crisis - $20 B infrastructure
- CHIP extend 10 yrs total.
- 2 yrs funding for Comm Hlth Ctrs
- Medicare: Repeals IPAB

If the above is in the budget bill it seems like it would be hard for moderate democrats to vote against it unless Pelosi pressures them.
That has too many items that the Dems were pushing for to be able to vote against it. I think it'll pass.

I don't see how the Democrats, Senate or the House, will be able to vote against this.

If that's the case then the Democrats are an unorganized bunch without a united front.

Pelosi writes to Dem colleagues formally opposing budget deal. Wants DACA. Says "we cannot allow our success in one part of the discussion to diminish our leverage in another. We have always said nothing is agreed to until everything is agreed to."

Pelosi letter to Dem colleagues: Speaker Ryan’s refusal to allow a bipartisan process for a DACA proposal demeans the dignity of the House of Representatives. It is also an insult to the American people, who overwhelmingly support the Dreamers.

Pelosi letter to colleagues: GOPers do not have the votes to pass this..bill on their own. Many..GOPers..opposed adequate funding of our domestic priorities. This proposal adds a quarter..trillion dollars to the deficit, which is why they don't have the votes to pass the bill

Dem NY Engel to Fox: I support Pelosi on this. That's why I am going to vote no on the budget bill. DACA is important and we need assurance on this from House leadership

State of play:

-Pelosi a no
-Ryan confident

-Dem whip operation is all over the place
-Many Dems look apt to vote yes

-about 70 Republicans, plus or minus 20, look apt to vote no

To be clear, if Pelosi actually wanted to shut this down and extract a DACA concession, she could. She has that Dem caucus on lockdown, save a few votes. That's not what this is. I'm not sure what this is, but it's...not that.

@MEPFuller
She's trying to bluff a shutdown to try to get a last minute agreement from Ryan?
