We're on the same page with that.

The way things have gone, it just seems that anything immigration related just cannot get done with these politicians currently in office.
I usually don't engage in the back and forth on this forum because I think it's a waste of time, but people saying "green card or nothing at all" don't seem too woke to me after the day we had yesterday. Trump was the main reason we don't had a victory yesterday because he stuck to his 4 pillar bullshit. Ryan won't bring a bill to the house floor unless it's something Trump supports. So the fact that they are open to a permanent extension of DACA is a big fucking deal I think

The Trump administration may have other plans.

The White House’s early preference going forward is a new bill sponsored by GOP Sens. John Thune of South Dakota, Jerry Moran of Kansas and Rob Portman of Ohio that would provide $25 billion in exchange for permanently extending DACA, an administration official said on Friday. Enrollees would have to reapply every two years under that plan.

No problem engaging in some debate...it is only healthy.

And I hear ya on your arguments...and I am ready to share life jackets with you...but here is how I see it.

This whole immigration thing is a farce, it is chaotic, and it doesn't seem like it will ever go anywhere...now something that seems lame like a DACA extension as a bill sounds promising, especially when you would end up giving the arm and the leg that is 25 billion for some bullshit wall...it sounds so promising that you figure, as long as the Dems just give in, then Trump will be like "LOL YEA BABY!", and boom we get our extension, and he gets his 25 billion.

But then where are we after that extension ends? What then? Where are our supporters? Where is the whole Dreamer movement across the country? Can Dems offer 25 billion more to Trump (If he is reelected) to get him to give some more???

I don't know if I explained it too well...but that is what I am worried about.

I think what little leverage we have left if any, can possibly be used to ink a Dream Act like bill, if we are at a point in giving 25 billion fucking dollars for a stupid fucking wall.

Again, 25 billion dollars for wall money, for a renewable DACA bill...that just doesn't seem viable IMO.

But who knows, maybe the Dems will give it to him.

Extension ends? The White House prefer the permanent extending of DACA

Think about it this way...

...I think DACA executive order will hang around possibly for a couple more years at least if nothing happens at all...and then maybe we can get something later? We do not even have to codify anything, and Trump doesn't get any wall money.

25 billion is too much IMO...I do not see that happening...but then again I am not part of Congress...so who knows really.
